I wanted to query the hive mind.. I was going to make a rollbar for the miaotter, and while running through designs in my head, I came up with this question:
If you had a rollbar like this:
Would it be better to make the intersection of the vertical and angled tube (down in the two lower corners)
A) with the vertical sections complete and the angled bars that intersect it cut to match
2) with the angled bars in tact (to the plate, anyway) and the vertical sections cut
*) both verticals AND angled bars cut?
IV) it doesn't really matter, don't you have better things to do with your time?
Assuming that the welding is complete and safe, I'm torn between the first and second options.. I mean, it would appear that the the vertical bars should stay intact in the case of a rollover that is needed to support, but on the other hand, it would seem a touch more strong to roll over (putting the impact on the upper-outer corner) with the cross bars being complete down at the bottom. The last option could be a good compromise in general.
It's probably the last option, eh?
What say the hive?
