The throttle didn't stick, it applied itself well before the apex. Sudden stop.
Ouch.
The foot-box area looks to still be structurally sound, so hopefully it’s just bruising, and no broken bones. The fact that they took him to the infield care center first, then by ambulance to the hospital (not by helicopter) bodes well.

What's up with steering straight ahead into the wall? It didn't look like an attempt to regain traction after heavy understeering.
Hard on the brake and steering forward to maximize braking grip from the front tires? Not wanting to slide sideways into the barrier? More room in the cockpit if the steering wheel is straight?
I’m sure he was aiming for the thickest part of the tire barrier at that point. The throttle stuck open on the first downshift and hit the rev limiter, which means the car was trying to accelerate. He was probably 20-25mph faster at the apex then he would normally be.
Sounds like he'll be fine, but they're keeping him overnight for observation: https://racer.com/2021/06/12/rosenqvist-to-remain-in-hospital-overnight-following-detroit-crash/
Adrian and I were at the race today. I took this pic of his car after they took it back to the paddock:
Ade has a little bit of carbon fiber from it that they were throwing away.
Oliver Askew will drive in place of Felix R
