It was published in the June issue, I think. Test was done in January.
I tend to get featured in these articles because I’m the one who brings the car and talks about it. There are a bunch of people responsible for making them work.
I’m most proud of the silhouette/cutaway drawing. You only get that if you’re legitimate. I did a card game back in 1985 or so that involved me tracing a dozen of those silhouettes. And now we have one. I’m going to make a poster for my wall.

When my friend Travis Ingram (he shot a recent GRM cover shot) saw the article, his first comment was "you got to work with Richard Pardon!?!!!" He's kind of a big deal, if you know your pro car photographers.
So we're standing on the side of the Angeles Crest Highway in the snow and Zach is driving past over and over to give us tracking shots. Richard and I start talking about his very cool car collection and he stops shooting so we can share pictures of our toys. Zach didn't realize and just kept driving back and forth in the rain and snow with the top down...
Having ridden in that car, it will change how you look at cars. V8 cars are too big. Small cars are too slow. This car is juuuuuust right.
197mph?!?! I’ve never seen that figure before. Is that top down? It’s probably top up huh... what a beast
I want one so so bad.
It’s an educated guess. That’s basically the top of fifth. We did the math on a land speed Miata years ago and came up with just under 500 hp for 200 mph. We know it’s still pulling pretty hard at 150.
If you try it, please contact me with details :)
