I'm looking for a source of rubber motor mounts for old-skool SBCs. Right now, we're using an Energy polyurethane mount but it's just too much NVH for street cars. I tried a set of cheapos from NAPA and while they've worked well on my MG, they ripped in half during hooliganism at the Mitty in the 480 hp Miata.

Anyone got a suggestion for good quality rubber mounts that will hold together? Here's what the Energy Suspension ones look like.

old school trick to keep soft one working was to drill a 3/8 hole thru the two plates and install a bolt with a nylock nut leaving it about 1/16th loose so it could dampen with compresion but go soild under high torque.

maybe speedway has better stuff?

This works. I have also seen it done with a piece of chain.

Speedway has more expensive stuff, but I have no way of telling if it's better. They all look the same in pictures!

I know some of the Corvettes used a similar design but they were locking, so at least the engine wouldn't move forward and start munching on the sway bar (to use a hypothetical example) if they break. I haven't been able to find one other than from Corvette restorers though.
