Been trying to find these numbers for a while and turned up nothing. Anyone know them, or know where to find them?

I think the R3 has the same springs as any other S2 RX-8, it just has over-damped Bilsteins under them.

Looking at Mazda Motor Sports, the only springs still available are FF14-34-011C for the front and FE02-28-011 in the rear.

That'd be awfully convenient if true!

The parts websites are showing three different part numbers for each axle's springs. Some of them are labeled "w/ side spoiler," which I thought usually refers to the R3-specific parts -- correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you know if the normal S2 rates are the same as the S1 rates? I know the lengths are different, at least in the rear...

I'm not positive, and now I'm probably only slightly less curious than you are.

Apropos of nothing, I used Racing Beat springs with the HD Bilsteins on my S1 and it was great for daily use and some spirited driving.

Here's what I'm seeing.

Front springs:

Rear springs:

I have no idea what to make of this.

At least on this website, all six part numbers are listed as fitting every trim level...

I'm guessing that wide/large spoilers mean R3? Sometimes Mazda does confusing things with their parts descriptions when they increase the rev.

That's what I thought, too. But for the rear springs, both of the other options list "W/O Stability Control," and I thought the R3 wasn't the only trim with stability control...

Anyone know of a site where I can plug in a VIN and get a single listing for each part? On all the websites I visit, plugging in any S2 RX-8 VIN gives me all three of the options shown above.

A call to or stop by your local dealer may be the fastest route.

At least with the S1 models, it was the GS that lacked stability control (eg. my GT - Shinka has it). With the S2s I'd have to assume at least the R3 and GT have stability control.

Finally got back around to this.

When we tried the VIN for my R3, we got FF22-34-011A and F197-28-011A.

We then tried a VIN for a random '09 Sport on AutoTrader and got FF14-34-011A (?) and F191-29-011C.

Might have messed up one of those slightly, but we're clearly looking at different part numbers for the R3 FWIW.
