Hey guys iv got a few questions and other people on the internet might have the same. All of the comparison of the turbo 2 and NA cars have been about the motor and rear end. I am going to try and get a set of seats from a turbo 2 and I got him to throw in his rear sway bar with them.

I was wanting to see if there are any other upgraded parts that come on the turbo 2's. The rear end hood tail lights are already gone on the car im getting parts from so he has the suspension and interior left. Another parts I should grab that will be better than my NA parts? Springs, sway bar, bushings...

I already have the 5 lug 4 piston brakes so im good there.

Thanks for the info guys!

I am pretty sure the suspension is the same on any 5 lug car. The GXL did have the electronically adjustable suspension that will most likely not be functional anymore.

Some of the Turbo II did have vented rear rotors...

Again, pretty sure that the springs, brakes, struts, bushings, ball joints, swaybars, racks (a few were available - none turbo specific), etc.. are identical to any other 5 lug car. (Except the GXL which has different struts)

Quick Edit: The series 5 base model cars had the 5 lug wheels but had the weaker crappy brakes that were similar to the older S4 4 lug brakes.

ok so not much Well my car started as a 4 lug car so the rear sway bar may be a bit larger but I won't know until I get there. My front bar is aftermarket (I think) so no need to grab it.

The seats do look like they have a bit more support on the sides witch will be nice. My seats don't feel like they will hold me very well and they are ripped so some cheap seats are always nice. And I will check the rotors!

Thanks wvumtnbkr!

The rear swaybar on these cars is tiny! They are also very difficult to get to.

We disconnected ours to settle the rear end.

The turbo car had an aluminum hood with a scoop. If you don't need the scoop, look for a convertible hood, which will also be aluminum.

You didn't mention it, but as you probably know, the Turbo cars had a beefier transmission, stronger axles, bigger driveshaft and a larger clutch/flywheel.

The S4 Turbo cars also got either the fast power steering rack or the dog-slow manual rack. If it is an S4 with power steering, it is worth getting the rack, pump, bracket and lines. Your car may already have the fast rack in it, but spares are always worth having. If you plan on de-powering the rack, the s5 power racks should be halfway in between the quick s4 and the sluggish manual racks.

The hood is also sold witch is a bummer but I have a aluminum one anyway so I wouldn't need it anyway.

I might look at the steering rack. I have a spare rack but I don't know if its a turbo or a NA it came out of a GXL but that car had a lot of work done so I have no idea what parts might have been swapped.

I am doing a 302 swap with my car so most of the motor parts won't do my any good. But I will keep my eye out!

I just saw your location, I'm in NC, too. With a 302, you'll want all of the rear end components (diff, half-shafts, etc.)

Yep im local! I would have loved to grab the rear end but it was gone fast... I am running a stock 302 for now so 240hp 300tq+or- and I will probably end up babying it because the 5 speed is used and unknown if its any good. But yes a t2 rear end is on the list.
