Reading the Avanti thread reminded me to ask- anyone heading out to Bonneville this weekend? Speed Week starts tomorrow.
The Alfa I've worked on in the past is going out again- they are shooting for 240, and if you have a spare hand, they can use it- there are 2 people actually working on it, one other driving, and one other.... well..
Speed Week is one of the best events I've ever been to- not a ton of action, but if you can work on a team, it's pretty fun.
Hot, hot babes on motorcycles setting records if you really need more reasons to be there.

Nashco and I will be there, taking a much needed breather from the Honda.
Our "Revo Tuned" Skoda Octavia will be there. Hoping to break 200mph!

Look for a lovely yellow Alfa spider. If you need something to do, just for fun, I'm sure they would be happy to see you.
But at a BARE minimum, get a pit pass. Talk to teams. Unless there's a mad rush to work on a car, teams LOVE to talk.

Is it customary to wear no pants there? Are there booths where for a fee I could get sunscreen applied?
Seriously, I bet going there would be a blast. Maybe someday.

My goal in life is to some day, run a car at Bonneville. I'd LIKE to have the worlds fastest ms3. That's a lofty goal though.
In reply to T.J.:
Loose shorts are pretty common. Pair that with boxers, and one never knows if the sun refelction off the salt is getting up there.
It's one of those rumors like the one that you knew someone who knew a kid who put BenGay in someone jock strap. dunno if it's really true.

Sounds like the sort of weird place where even basic instructions like "stick it where the sun don't shine" can create unforeseen confusion...
