Actually, 45 years later
Came across this old pic of my mom sitting on Dad's then-new 1970 Triumph GT6
And this one of me leaning against the exact same car roughly 45 years later...
So, let's see your "then and now" pics of cars from long ago ---> recently.

So I posted this in another thread but here is my Datsun 38 years apart.
I'll have to go diving for pics, but this thread just made me realize that I've had my mustang for almost 20 years....
I feel old now, thanks for that.
Lol

The car is cool and all, but, any more photos of your Mom?
I had to, sorry.
A twist on your thread - Corner 3 @ Road America estimate 38 years apart. Datsun 310's never made it through salty winters.

The Rabbit windshield header is a nice touch.
In my copious free time I'll have to go prospecting for pictures of Curtis's Le Mans.

lol, I'll humor you ;) Same year. Dad bought the car when he graduated from the Naval Academy. He said most of his classmates bought Corvettes and Porsches, but he was from a blue-collar upbringing and thought buying the GT6 was the "thrifty" thing to do.
Loved the car, but it's a shame he didn't hand a 1970 Porsche down to me instead :D

You definitely need to get those roof lights back on it :D
Its only a matter of time before someone makes a "same year, 35 cars later" post
I put the few pics I had of my Opel back in 1990 somewhere where I'd not lose them...
Still have not found them. berkeley.
My mom and dad with his "new" 1990 Miata in 1999.
Same car after I drove it back to Colorado a couple of years ago.
My first car, a 1990 Miata I bought in early 1993.
Autocrossing it in the late 90s.
It's undercover right now, but here it is beside my shop. Still looks pretty much the same under the cover.

My first name is Peter and I acquired the nickname Rabbit at work. (Peter Rabbit)
These banners were on the blue light special at work so I had to get one.
It has thrown everyone a curveball since 1981.
Found an 80s shot of the GT6 (now missing its hubcaps and with a cargo rack on it) as well, sitting alongside our Audi 80 (?). Both cars had just driven cross-country from Seattle to Virginia, with the Audi towing that sailboat the whole way. Must have been a slow trip. I was only 3 years old, and I rode shotgun in the GT6 the whole way with mom driving.

We used to hurl that poor little car down gravel roads on the outskirts of Vegas late at night. The lights were awesome, we fitted an oversize battery becuase the alternator struggled to keep up.
I won a couple of night autocross events with those lights fitted.
45 years later?!?! The way I like to have different cars, I may struggle to take a picture of the same car 45 days later...
I've had my Trans Am for 20 years this summer. Here's a pic from after I got it home and cleaned it up:
And a pic from a few weeks ago:
The passenger fender is different, there's a couple more holes in it, the grilles broke apart as most do, and there's about 26% less paint on the nose. Also, the original Olds 403 was replaced with a Pontiac 400 back in 2008. I still love it, battle scars and all.

Only 11 years, still the longest I've owned a car that was continuously (mostly) running...
These photos rule.
My Miata, back when I got it in 1998.
And at my latest autocross, just last month.
From the other thread.
My Seca Turbo in 1988.
and 32 years later.
Perhaps more impressive is that the girl who took that first picture in her parents driveway has now been my wife for 30 years.

Did you widen the wheels?
Same truck, same father, same son. 17 years in between.

So cool. I notice that Dad's knees are what's aged the most.
