And I swear at first it looked like an inflated Hyundai. That's sad; Jaguars used to be unmistakeable yet sophisticated. Now they blend in. I bet Sir William Lyons is spinning in his grave.
Woops; I meant to say Jaguar XF.

yeah, the "jellybean" mold at it's finest here
Sir William Lyons would be churning madly in his grave
Yeah... they're not great... I'd definitely say Jags are better now than they have been through the early 2000s. They were just kind of... bla... no point to them almost. Not sporty looking, not classy, not handsome, not fast... now atleast they look faster..
Actually, not so much the one you posted pictures of. But some of the other new ones had me thinking "Aston" at first glance, which isn't great as it isn't an Aston, but better than not noticing it at all.
The thing about modern Jaguars is that they drive so well...from what I hear. Compared to the Germans and their techno-overkill, Jags are still pure and straightforward and a better driving experience. I for one am glad they are taking some bold new styling directions and they are not as fugly as the BMWs. Still not a car I aspire to, but gaining ground.
I too have driven next to one and hopefully it is nice on the inside and drives well because it leaves a lot to be desired on the outside....
When I first saw one at a show last year, I was really underwelmed by the front end. The rest of the car was exciting to look at, but the front end was bland by comparison. Now that I've seen a few on the road, the whole thing has grown on me. But you're all right, something is missing and the styling still doesn't seem as exotic as Jaguars of the past.
As was mentioned on Top Gear, "Joe Foreigner" has an outdated and quaint notion of with Brits are like, and has been the driving force for Jag sedans to look like older Jag sedans, from the MkX though the current XJ, and what made the S type look like the previous MkII Type S. They were going on about how nice it was to have a Jag that finally reflected modern Britain, and be a thoroughly modern car, not just a rehash of some previous design.
So there is another way to look at it. it's a good looking, modern car. It doesn't look like previous Jags, and apparently that's the point. And we, as "Joe Foregner," don't like it.
