In reply to jstein77:

The lambo's design is actually pretty well integrated, and it shows that having these kind of venting designs does not have to mean you accept an ugly rear end. The lower splitter looks a little tacked on, but not horrible.

But the Ferrari? Yeah, that's fugly. Looks like a cross between Johnny5 and the 1980s Camaro front end.

The Ferrari is ugly (most are) and the Lambo looks like a Lambo - I actually think the rear of the Vette looks the best of those three, but honestly, this looks the best.

I think that looks awesome. I love that they haven't been too sentimental and made it look like an old corvette with some edges sanded off. It looks exotic, expensive, and fast.

I saw two of them coming South on I75 yesterday (M plates on a holiday, naughty naughty). I must say they look much much better in person than the photo's lead me to believe. I lik emost Corvettes, but the C5 looks really really dated to me now. in the last 30 years my preference goes:

Early C4 > C7 > Late C4 > C6 > C5

I'm gonna enjoy watching them blow past me on the freeways :)

The C4-> C5 -> C6 design progression was not much of one, and it made the car stale IMO. I'm glad Chevy let the designers out of their cells for this one.

Looks great and will perform even better! Might have to unload my track prepped C6 Zo6

Not a huge Corvette fan (though i love the mid '60s C3s), but I have to say, I'm loving this:

Agreed. It's like they said, "ok... we've done the retro-thing with the Camaro... now let's move forward."

The round tail lights on the c5 were the worst part about it. It looked like the designers were so hemmed in by tradition that they didn't even try. The rear end of the 7 isn't perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than it would have been if they'd have kept four round circles in a sea of plastic back there.

I think they would have avoided some backlash by incorporating more roundness to the taillights. I think a pair of half round (cut off at the top) taillights would have looked extremely menacing and much better than quadrilaterals that are there
