I finally unloaded #oldnasty last weekend (My 1991 Integra that was daily driven for around 15 years, racking up JUST shy of 400,000 miles.)
After cleaning her up to sell (and she DOES clean up nice) multiple times, replacing a couple batteries during that span, dealing with dozens of tire-kickers, ASK-holes, and even offering to GIVE it away at the Challenge, and basically saying "berkeley it, it'll either be my daughter's first car, or we'll get tanked, light it on fire and shoot guns at it," a very cool young dude gave me $500 for it (Less the $100 I spent for ANOTHER new battery, as I didn't want him to have to buy one.)
A couple hours later I received this video and I'm #happysad
Since the video, he's cleaned her up proper, but left one little green square of mold in my honor, which makes me happy. He's got a race bucket and quick-release steering wheel on the way, and I'm delivering the set of lowering springs and KYB's I never installed.
Anyway, #coolstorybro - I just kinda miss my old girl, and wishing I'd shown her more love toward the end. I'm very much a "It's just a car" kinda guy, but this is one of two I'm already regretting letting go (My 265k mile 88 Dodge Shadow Turbo being the other.)
THose are great cars.
I had a 1990 Black RS. Then a 92 Captiva Blue Pearl LS, and then finally the B17 GSR Aztec Green I held on to for 11 glorious years. What a fantastic machine that was. I love the DA. I moved on to other cars, TSX, S2000 (two of them), but nothing ever captured the feeling of my EF Hatch/CRX or my GSR DA.
After ownign many expensive cars over the years, last year when I picked up my 01 GSR Sedan, that fun is back. Its low powered, high revving, bone stock, under the radar appearance and just a fun car to drive. I averaged 23MPG on this tank, doing mostly 90MPH, and constant 8000 RPM shifts all the time. STock clutch, 205K miles. All original. Really found the joy in driving, with my kids in tow.
LONG LIVE THE INTEGRA
Hope your old friend lives life happily.

That is awesome! FYI, they don't like being revved much beyond 10k I learned this with a money-shift at Little Talladega at around 225k miles and god-knows-how-many years ago.
I'll always have a soft spot for late 80s to mid 90s Honda/Acura hatches, no matter how base model they are. Post some pics of the former steed when you get a chance.

I thought this was gonna be another dog thread and didn't want to click on it.

havent dome a money shift yet. Hope never to do one . Sold too many integras. Gonna keep my GSR sedan for a while. Just takes a beating and keeps on ticking
I'm back driving my B13 SR20 powered Sentra again. Wee bit more grunt than an Integra (we have two chump Integras), but not quite as nice a handler. Also, I'm enjoying my experimental set of Sailun Ice Blazer tires.
I love those little sedans/coupes from the 90's and early 00's. They are just right, unless you need someone in the back seat.
I tried so hard to get a '92 GS-R when I was in high school. This would have been in '98 or so, just couldn't swing it.
I've never been one to relate to a car as a person, I've never given them names.
But when they go away I miss them for sure. When my dad's old truck went away on a roll back I watched it disappear and then I cried.
At the age of 27.
You get attached. Especially having one for as long as you did.

Back when I was SUUUUUPER into hondas, I really wanted a GSR sedan. Never found one that wasn't riced beyond recognition, which is sad.
In reply to Mr_Asa :
Nah, man. I try to keep that E36 M3 to myself. Or put it in "off-topic"

Funny
when i was super into hondas, i HATED sedans and I HATED 4 eyes ugly Integras.
now I have both! LOL. You can't see the ugly when you are inside, and sedan because I didn't wrap it up - you get old and you realize your own faults and mistakes!
only think I was jealous of was the EG and DC chassis moonroofs. They popped up and looked so cool like popped collars Jersey shore style.
now I have that too! Hah
my GSR has 5 people in it 70% of the time. Out of our 9 rides, it's now the one with the most interior passenger volume! Lol
so much fun, cold a/C, moon roof popped, car full, and VTEC shifts with Bilsteins and yoko a050
I better be quiet before I let the rest of my inner ricer out !
In reply to mr2s2000elise :
The inner ricer in me is still strong. Maybe I'm just on a V8 kick.
In reply to poopshovel again :
You must be channeling it to my kids
They dont' want to ride in the MR2 anymore or the Elise. They want to go in the "racecar" which is now the GSR. Because they love going to redline, yet still being slow enough for the speed limit S2000 hasn't moved in 24 months. Might take it out this weekend. My wife drives the two current V8s in the fleet (600hL and RCF)
Of all the vehicles i've owned, my 92 Civic dx hatch is the one I miss the most. Utilitarian and fun to drive all rolled into one. I fit a mattress in the back with that two part hatch gate. My Versa Note kinda reminds me of my Civic hatch (low power, manual windows/locks.)

I often miss my '91 Integra GS. Boy, did I beat the snot out of that car and put a fair bit of miles on it during my 6 years of ownership. Still ran well when I traded it in, but a lot of the interior bits were falling apart. It would have made a great track-rat.
In reply to Ian F :
Mine, too, was (is) a 91 GS. It really is a great car. I spent a season or two autocrossing it in GS, and it was STOCK_STOCK. Pretty sure it still has the original struts 400k miles in.
'Twas a great hauler of long things, too. I won a couple $3 bets on whether or not the hatch would close with a 10' stick of moulding inside.
