Anyone got a line of the best value for scales? I'd love to corner weight the car and hopefully also weigh my ~3-4k LB 72 Airstream. Car in question is a ~1500lb MG.

If you. Are just searching for numbers rent a set. If you plan on using the numbers to set up the car for racing Try the bathroom scale approach. Ruggles sold me my set. I used them until I could tell by the seat of my pants how much to adjust. They still work fine and I'll use them setting up my Jaguar XJS and later the MGuar.
If you're up for an Arduino project, check this approach out: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/diy-arduino-corner-weights/186240/page1/
I bought a set of levers and analog scales off a local dirt race guy for super cheap. Perfect price for how little I use it but handy when needed.

I have no data on this website being real or not, but 660lbs per corner gets you up to a ~ 2500lb car. Not bad for less than $200.
I contemplated getting a set but instead I take the Datsun to our local set up guru given how infrequently it needs doing.
The F500 is so light I just use bathroom scales.
Where are you located? Borrowing is always the cheapest.
If that's a no go, I got a set that was nicer than expected brand new from proforma.
I appreciate the input- I'm in Davis, ca. I think there may be a dude I'm an aquaintance with whom I may be able to horn in on borrowing a set when the time comes. Spec Miata racer. So- am I correct in thinking that once you get them set, the need to rebalance isn't often enough to justify a purchase?

That's pretty much my view. Once I have the car corner weighted I take ride height measurements so the I can put the car back where it was after I take stuff apart.
I hadn't had the car checked in several seasons. Even having the front & rear suspension off more than once the car was only off by about 50lbs.
Scales are like engine lifts, the best solution is to be friends with someone that has them. Proper race scales are expensive for the amount of use they get, and engine lifts take up too much space for often they get used.

Technically, anytime you change alignment or especially, ride height, it's a good idea to corner weight again.
That being said, I just count turns of the spring perches and mark them to get it back to close enough when I make changes at the track.
Four of these....won't do the Airstream though....

That actually was my original thought, but figured maybe there was a good deal that would work for both. I'll see what I can do to borrow. See what I can do to make (arduino post- thanks!), and probably beg, steal, and/or borrow what I can. I seriously need a tool collective locally for this kind of thing.
You'll need to log in to post.
