What sort of hp are each of the open wheel SCCA classes developing? Anyone know?
There are so many different open wheel classes in SCCA that there's a lot of different kinds of chassis. Are you just looking for horsepower figures, or are you thinking about what kind of lap times they turn?
HP. I want some sort of comparison between the hp of F1000 compared to FV and FF, for example. Then I need to find some lap times from a "spectrum" of tracks from fast (Road America?) to slow (Blackhawk?) with something in the middle. For the sake of getting things rolling, let's focus on F1000/FF/FV.
FV motors are pushing about 53hp, I know that much. I seem to remember something about FF being in the 130hp range, but I don't know the who, what, where, when, or why I got that number.
F1000 (FB) is a stock GSXR1000 - the only allowed mod is a manual cam chain tensioner and presumably some sort of flat bottom wet oil pan. Those make like 145 hp.
But I think and FB is a formula continental, so maybe a kick ass FC motor makes 150. I've been around some FCs at summit in my Radical w/ a tired '02 GSXR 1000 motor and they seemed to pull me a bit on the straight. I was doing better times but these weren't fast cars or drivers.
So would I be wildly inaccurate to round off those numbers as 50/100/150 for FV/FF/F1000 respectively?

Nope. Most CF/FF motors make about 90-100hp.
All right, then, let's talk about tracks rather than starting a new thread. I'm looking for "representative" tracks you could characterize as "Fast" (again, I'm thinking Road America) "Medium or Mixed" (Mid-Ohio, perhaps?) and "Slow" (very tight and twisty, maybe Sears Point?) that would have extensive lap times/records for the last 30 years or so. Any nominations?
