Wolfe would have been 3rd heat also. I am not running camera or data but Gonzalo said his gps data had him at 57mph actual speed so mine should have been close to that.

He shifted out of first so it was definitely way too fast.
People use 1st in rallycross other than the first 20 feet of the course? that sounds terrible.

Last event I ran, we were downhill start so I was starting in 2nd. Saved the effort of shifting right past the timing hose

I could probably start in 2nd all the time (200+ tq will do that!), but I feel like if I don't shift at least once, I'm driving a slushbox :)

I was also leaving it in 2nd until I realized i was hitting the rev limiter, so I started using 3rd... Picked up a couple seconds on a 30 second course.
Never saw over 46mph.
The out and back sounds like a loop course we did at NTR at a non SCCA event. Was running 3rd gear all the way out

ARGH!!! Rain is my mojo. I always kick ass when it rains.
I swear, when I get back to Nationals (hopefully next year unless it's in like Colorado or Utah or something) it is going to be a complete dust bowl.

I wonder if Dozeman ever gets annoyed that he puts all the effort into building these cars and then gets his ass handed to him by his codriver every time and that everyone constantly refers to it as "Brianne's car" lol. (Disclaimer - I'm just speaking from reading his posts, wheere I always get the impression that he's the one building the cars since he doesn't generally mention Brianne, but I could be totally wrong and she's there building them with him)
In reply to irish44j (Forum Supporter) :
IIRC Warren was the only car owner who was as fast as Brianne when she co-drove..

Wasn't my point. I've been beaten several times in my own car over the years - and i fully admit several of my MR classmates are faster/better drivers than I am. But, some of them can't build a reliable and/or good-performing car, so i beat them over a season even though they're better drivers, at least for the last three seasons.
I kind of meant that Dozeman could theoretically be a multi-time national champion himself if he didn't let her co-drive the cars he builds (if indeed he builds them without her, which again I don't know). I was just kind of curious if he's going to a lot of car-building effort/expense just to play second fiddle. And of course, he may be totally fine with that anyway, if that's the case (since *his car* has won multiple nationals), since obviously they're friends. And of course also not saying she couldn't/wouldn't build just as good/better car herself and win anyway. I just don't know that I personally could put all the time into building a car and then have someone else beat me in it regularly. I just was wondering if anyone knew how much involvement she has in the car design/build or if it's all him.
Hell, Vaughn is fast as hell too, but has been done in at several nationals due to having problems with his car.
Just an academic/abstract thought. Pretty much every driver locally is competing in cars they built themselves (or in concert with their codriver).....I can't think of anyone who just drives someone else's car and consistently beats them. I always think of rallycross being half about how good the driver is, and half about how good the driver's car has been built to perform AND be reliable/tough.

Speaking as someone who has been pwnt by their co-driver at Nationals... It's bittersweet? I mean, yeah, you want to win, and it is a little disheartening to know that the car is capable of faster/cleaner times than you can motor it to, but at the same time, it feels good as a builder to know it was your car that won.
I'm unaware if anyone ever misattributed those builder efforts to my co-driver, though. That WOULD be annoying.

that's kind of what I meant.
.Again, could very well be that she did build the car with him (or maybe she pays for it)....IDK. again, just an academic discussion since I'm not racing :)
at least the consistent fastest driver with fastest raw times every time he shows up at ETR got 2nd in MA.
Also the wagovan winning does not help my want for a decent wagovan
According to facebook the car he ran was full stage spec, had passenger seat and fire system in it still, along with a turbo restrictor.
They really need to stick to 3 runs and 2 courses a day, the fewer runs per a course means less surface degradation and deterioration. Fewer changes to the course needed, fewer rollovers. I know autocross runs one course each day, but stage rally you rarely run the same stage more than twice. Split the difference, 3 on the am course, 3 on the pm course. 12 runs for the weekend and less time standing around while decisions are made regarding changes and cleanup. Then when people complain that the runs are over at 4:30 and there could have been more runs, let them know that's because the setup and planning for the event worked.
Pretty sure they've historically done two courses Saturday and one longer one Sunday, 3-4 runs per course. I liked that setup because there was still plenty of run time, but it allowed time to have the awards ceremony and leave at a reasonable time. Not sure about Topeka but at least in Iowa the site was large enough to have both Saturday courses set up at once, so course changeover was just a matter of moving the timing lights over.
