I think you'll really enjoy it. One great thing about the Runoffs (as Joe alluded to) is the crowd. About half of them are SCCA members (at times, half of those seem to be drivers from the SCCA Regional program), and have seen a lot of road racing. I still recall one year here in Atlanta when the Starter gave the green to a pretty ragged pack, and the crowd up in the grandstands at 11 actually broke out in boos & hisses.

Werd.

You won't find a more knowledgeable support group/crowd than those at the RunOffs.

We're talking about amateur road racing, for crying out loud. No one goes to SCCA National/Regionals unless they are hard-care fans or racers who can't be on track. It's a family-thing - even if the DNA doesn't much match.

Don't mean to hijack, but our forum's own Don49 (#47 F Production) is 23rd on the grid at the moment with a high 2:56:5. Jon Brakke and Greg Ira are cutting 2:28s..absolutely insane. Even my old friend Sam Moore is only cutting 2:35s (7th on the grid), but still one spot ahead of reigning Nat'l Champ Sam Halkias.

According to the timing info, Jon spent 14min to get his 2:28, but Greg took 17min to get within .26 thousandths. Yeah, it's early days, but I smell an Epic battle cooking here..

In reply to friedgreencorrado:

And, Speedcasttv.com will provide live coverage of all the racing! Racing begins at 9:00AM, Friday, the 24th. Watch it live, or visit the website for online access to every race.

NOTE: It's free, unless things have changed since last year.

Dang..my mistake, KJ. I meant to say E Prod..sometimes, beer and keyboards don't mix very well. Don & all my old SCCA buddies I was talking about run E Prod. Got the links right, but the post wrong. Can't even blame it on a typo, since the keys are far enough apart. Thanks for the "heads-up", dude.
