I ran the Firebird at a NASA HPDE event at Sebring this past weekend. One of the very rare times I'm up before the sun. The only way you can get a regular pit area is to get up (hotel on site) way before sunrise and get your butt over to the track area and unload the car and claim a pit. Failure to do so means you're out in the Florida sun all day and it's still hot down here.
Since I had the car unloaded before dawn I took this pic at dawn then headed right over to claim a pit. They were almost all full already! And there's a lot of pits!
love the pick. I think shots like that are why i've always been an early riser

Thanks guys! David Wallens took a bunch of pics of the car at a NASA event at Palm Beach International a few weeks ago. Hoping he got one nice enough to make the mag. I've had the GRM stickers on it for a while. Going to switch the sticker layouts for the Land Speed Race near Miami this weekend since I have to use different numbers anyway. I got some more GRM stickers David brought to PBI so I'll still have some on the car somewhere.

That is a very cool shot.
That's not a Sebring, that's a Firebird.
Man, I expect that elsewhere, but on GRM?

Good one!
I have a wee twinge of the green monster, we do still have decent sunsets in ohio this time of year but it's getting chilly. Looks like a rewarding early morning.
nice pic! next time take the flash off and set exposure to like 10 seconds lol. If it's a point and shoot just turn it to night time mode (little guy with moon) and let it take the picture.
still a sweet pic

It's a Nikon coolpix 5700 but I don't really know how to use it properly. I tried no flash but just got the outline of the car LOL
Great pictures. Hopefully (if I can get with David next week post Challenge), you'll all see sunrise pictures of one of my favorite places. Especially with the significance of HAVING to be there at dawn.

I would argue that this car would make a very nice feature article in a future issue of GRM!
