My son wrecked his 2002(I think) Civic EX (2 dr 5 speed). We have found a 2001 Civc EX (4dr automatic) with a blown engine. How hard would it be to transplant the 2002 engine and 5 speed trans into the 2001? The automatic has been "rebuilt". Or should I just swap the engine and stick with the slushbox. Are the engine management systems the same in both years? Is the firewall forward the same for 2 drs and 4 drs. If so we could just swap body parts. His wreck was a light rear ender. He was the rear.
