My wife and I are going to be on a TV show and the episode films in a few weeks. Details of the show later, but it's very well known. Audience of several million. We and the show producers had planned for me to take the host out for a quick ride in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. However, the execs squashed the idea... not because of liability, but because they didn't want to give free advertising to such iconic brands. They are instantly recognizable.
Does anyone have a more non-descript car in the central FL area that I can borrow for a day? Think kit car, Frankenstein build, or anything someone wouldn't instantly say "Oh that's a brand X". Your car will be famous!!!
Surprised the execs didn't set up a bidding war between Ferrari and Lamborghini for the product placement
Could be a good opportunity for a kit car builder like Factory Five, Superlite etc...looks like DDR/Grullon has a Miami office, I bet they'd be happy to drive one over...
In reply to GameboyRMH :
VW is a multi million dollar client of theirs and they don't want to give them anything for free.
In reply to SKJSS (formerly Klayfish) :
They could see what Ferrari would pay for product placement, then go to VAG and say "Ferrari offered $X for product placement in our series, since you've bought some placement with us before we wanted to see if you were interested in outbidding them before we go ahead with Ferrari's offer..."
I prefer the more grassroots option of giving a small kit-car manufacturer the opportunity though. It also tends to bring more media attention when people are trying to figure out what that weird car was (eg. Suicide Squad, She-Hulk).

Sounds like you need to find a Saturn, Saab, or other know but retired brand to borrow.
edit: maybe sky or solstice?
Also, is the show "Cribs"? Please say it's "Cribs".
Ask Tim if you can borrow the Manx.

For the love of all that is intelligent, please let it not be Outer Banks (AKA: "The Island of Stupid Decisions").
I'm going with House Hunters...
Hit up either the Central Florida Fiero Club or the Space Coast Fiero Club.
I'm sure someone has a chop top or something weird.

At the other end of the spectrum, I've got a Geo Prizm! Debadge it and the only people that will know what it is have already seen this thread.
Mosler has the added bonus of being based in central Florida.

Isn't this standard operation for Hollywood? The brand doesn't matter, just put a piece of black gaffer's tape over the badges.

The Geo badge is already missing from the front.
Edit: I'm really excelling with the non helpful replies here.
What about something like a manual Honda Fit lol there's one sitting in my driveway
We decided to skip the idea, too many hurdles to clear.
That's too bad. I was just thinknf anything modern from Lotus would work. They're sexy as heck but not particularly recognizable
