I will be in both Cleveland and Pittsburgh next week and there is a good chance I will find myself with an hour or two to kill in the morning/early afternoon. What better way to do that than by going to a junk yard?! Any recommendations of a decent self serve yard in either city?
what are you looking for or what type of yard do you like going to

The only part I NEED is a rear bumper cover for a Civic. The parts I WANT are never known until I see them!
My only requirements are a junk yard that lets you roam the aisles and pull you own stuff along with having an import section.
wagners foriegn auto wrecking Portersville Pa. just north of Pittsburgh if you are coming from Cleveland to the burg it would be around 20 minutes out of your way. they have a ton of civics also check out their sister yard right beside them its their truck yard.

Yes, I got a Saturn driver's seat from the Akron location.
It was great and it was $35.
Clean and organized place with stones on the ground, not the typical mud and the cars are laid out by make and not stacked resulting in cars that can not be reached.
They also have an inventory checker:

This will tell you what year Civic they have on the lot but no pictures or no way of knowing if the front bumper still remains or not.
Two bucks to get in and then you're free to roam all day.
Thats for the leads. Hopefully I can bail out of morning meetings early!
Pull- a- part gets a big thumb up from me. all the time. nice folk, clean yard. good prices.
its somewhere i just go for fun sometimes...which makes me odd
Millerstown is also just outside of the 'burgh.

Wow I didn't know that inventory thing actually worked Here is the pricing all nicely listed also

The down side to that place is all the "cool" sporty type imports are pretty well picked over. Imports are far outnumbered by the domestic stuff too. If you need Camry parts you are set though, the place is littered with them
I managed to hit the two in Cleveland this week. Just like the PicknPull in Columbus I used to go to, the imports were picked pretty clean. I did find a nice seat for the Civic I havent decided what to do with yet. Its been 3 years since I could regularly hit a junk yard and once you are removed from the small price increases its kinda shocking when you catch up. Of course most of it was new fees and a warrenty the counter girl told me was "mandatory". My 26.06 bucket seat became 29.54 after the 3.48 warrenty was added. (In hindsight I should have asked what it was warrentied against) The enviro fee was another 1.85. But I got a clean seat with good bolsters for 33 and change. I can live with that.
Last Sunday, I went to PaP, Westside Cleveland and got a Taurus rear bumper skin (in exact color) and accompanying trim pieces for $50. About half of other options I had found online. They had 10 Tauruses of my age range to choose from
The reason the imports are picked clean is because not only can you check inventory online, there is also an online notification function. This will then tell you, for example, when an Integra hits the lot and all the ebayers show up a strip it down.

This is why I have never ever ever (to quote T. Swift) seen a Honda Civic distributor in a junkyard.
