Friend of mine is selling his 1989 Miata that is mint. It's been thoroughly modded and even has Jackson Racing supercharger. I love the Mustang but I'm continually getting my ass kicked at the track by Miata (autocross). Is it better to join them or should I keep bouncing this live axle around the cones.

Personal choice, but I'd take the Miata every time.
You're in the position where you can drive them both and decide!
About that JR supercharger - accept that it is maxxed out and do not attempt to chase more power.
Tough choice. If the fox is no longer bringing joy to your life and you think you'd be happier with the miata, then it's easy. If you're still enjoying the fox but want to be faster on the track, then make the appropriate upgrades.
I'll test drive the Miata and go from there. Maybe I should sell my daily and have both.

This is the correct answer.
In reply to rustysteel:
Someone I work with rotates between a Fox mustang, a pinto and a 80s f150 as his daily.
Id keep the fox and sell your daily clean foxbodys are getting harder too find.
A nice fox is very hard to find
That being said I've not bothered to drag my decently nice fox out since I bought my miata last year
I've traded a rwd V8 for a 4cyl fwd and really missed the sound and power of the V8.
Both your choices are rwd so that muddies things some.
I know for myself, I'd end up missing the V8 but that's my issue, not necessarily yours.
The answer is always Fox Body Mustang.
Why are you looking at me like that?
