@poopshovel, Carmax’s offer increased $350 if I bought a car through them. They said it was to cover taxes on the new car.
The car I was going to sell the Mustang for was a 1990 Porsche 944 S2 cabriolet. According to Wikipedia... there were less than 2500 imported to the US. Again not a particularly special car to anyone else, it I thought it was cooler than the Mustang. Dculberson made an offer and I was ready to take it.
But...I had been in touch with the seller and was supposed to see it on Wednesday. He went silent late Monday night, and then late Tuesday marked the car as “sold”.
I was bummed to miss out on the Mustang, but glad I didn't snatch it from Octavious and *then* have his 944 fall through. Maybe he'll fall in love again with something else. ;-)
