Hey guys,
I think I have decided to sell my 83 Plymouth Sapporo Technica coupe. I know I just got it and all back in the spring, but I have found that I didn't use it much at all this summer, and I think I would be better suited either upgrading my Ram van,or getting something a little easier for the kids to get into anyway. I still plan on keeping my REPU,and RX-7,but I think the Sapporo has to go.
I was wondering how should I go about selling such an oddball car? I know I bought it on the JNC web forum, and I will try there, but can you guys suggest another way. CL is such a pain in the ass I am not sure I want to go that route, and eBay has been hit or miss with me with all teh scams and such like CL. Any other ways?

For a niche vehicle, I think the only way to really go is by finding forums dedicated to that.

I think this is a good choice for an unusual car - you'll get a lot of exposure.

How much are you asking? A guy I work with is itching for a odd car, and working for Chrysler he could still park in the best parking lots....

I think ebay will bring you national exposure which is what you may need to find the right buyer.
Mazdax605 already noted the problems with eBay are that there are a number of scammers and flaky buyers out there that can try to fleece him, or even buy the car but never pick it up. Not to mention the eBay/PayPal fees...
it all depends on your price and runs/drives well... if it's fairly inexpensive you may not have much of a prob moving it...
if you want a premium price because it's rare... well it's going to be more difficult to sell
I would really need to get $3500 for it. It is a sweet car that needs some help on the paint side, but runs great and has a sweet 98% rust free body. I bought it in in California, and the interior is minty fresh for a mid eighties Chrysler/Mitsu product. It is an oddball as it is technically a Plymouth, but is truly a Mitsubishi at heart. RWD goodness, and a cool coupe body make it special as well. Also it talks.
you could just donate it to me and I would love it very much=]
If you make a donation to my bank account I will donate it to you cory.

asking the wife right now...
no dice=/
seriously though, that is a really cool car, and you should easily be able to find someone for it.
It's had me looking for starions on cheapcarfinds lol
very hard to find. your car: impossible to find.
I haven't seen one of them in years.
About 16-17 years ago there was a Dodge Challenger version for sale at the Chryslers at Carlisle show. It had a mild 360 swapped in and was a very clean factory looking swap.
I thought of a V8 swap,and if I can't sell it(likely) I will put a V8 in it.
From what I remember, the Mitsu used a Chrysler 904 for the automatic so the guy was able to use the existing mount and shifter linkage on the V8 904. I could be wrong, it's been a long time.
They used two center dump passenger side exhaust manifolds on the car. They were the mid-'70's 360 pieces. A pair of street rod block hugger headers would be easier to find now though.
The guy had the stock 360 2bbl intake and air cleaner on it. All fit under the hood no problem. Was painted up stock, and a very clean swap.

Do you have any pics?? I'll send them along to this guy.
Find a Sopporo website where an enthusiast will love it, feed it and give it warm baths.

That is cool, and very clean.
Yep - Mitsubishi used A904s for their RWD automatic applications through the mid '80s at least. Which makes me wonder why you don't see more import drag cars running a 4G63 with a built A904 behind them.
That thing is cool as hell!
We used to have several Arrows and colts in New England that draged and few other mitsu /mopar mixed models.
Is the A904 a good transmission? My car is an automatic 3-speed if that tells you anything.
