So the time has come to sell my 86 Bronco 2.
I thought about where to sell it and it kind of comes down to three options.
1 - Sell it on the side of the road yet I am afraid some kid would destroy it wheelin.
2 - Criagslist but even though Bronco 2s are highly sought after I don't know how many buyers I would get.
3 - eBay Motors. I am thinking I would have a better chance of finding someone else who for some reason likes Bronco 2.
I think I am going with option three yet after looking at the site it can be a bit crazy with all of the options. So this is why I am turned to the smartest people I know to ask for your advise on selling a car on eBay Motors.
So what are your thoughts??
Thanks!
I like the expanded market you get with eBay. If I were selling an Accord, I'd just go with C-List, but anything obscure or something that has an enthusiast following, I like eBay.

I was just thinking about where to sell my Spitfire and saw this post.
CL is free and worth a shot. Try it for two weeks. If it isn't sold then do Ebay.
I have sold five cars and many motorcycles on ebay. I'm not really thrilled with the fees and I got burned three or four times when the buyer backed out.

Bronco II enthusiast sites? Or are these like E30 sites where there is often much want but little money?
I'll likely go the eBay route when it comes time to sell the E30.
My road-legal vehicle I drove was an 86 Bronco II. 2.9? and the 5spd.
I'm tempted to put several of the cars we are planning to sell on ebay simply because of the bigger reach. I'm not sure if you get fewer flakes than on CL but it's worth a try.
When I sold the Talon I had it listed on both at the same time, it did sell via CL but I did have a couple of bids on ebay. Didn't reach the reserve on the latter though.

Thanks all for the input.
I spent two years looking for this Bronco 2 and it is in great shape so I would love it if it went to someone who continue to enjoy it.
Honestly what I was hoping to learn more about is the eBay fees and options.
Thanks!!

I've sold thirty cars on eBay and it's been hit or miss. I got four grand for a rusted out shell of a 1968 Mustang 6cyl fastback but can't seem to get two grand for my straight, original & rust-free 1991 Jetta.
Also, eBay is ridiculously buyer-biased. I once got scammed & could not leave the buyer the bad feedback he desperately deserved. He wanted me to falsify an odometer statement so he could say the car I sold him had 30k miles, not 130k (5 digit odometer). When I wasn't willing to commit fraud, he did: he got PayPal to reimburse his purchase price under its "buyer protection plan" which left me without the car or the money.
Also, it costs about $200 in fees.
Moral of the story: DO NOT LET THE BUYER PAY THE ENTIRE PURCHASE PRICE WITH PAYPAL. Caveat Vendor apparently.

I would list it after the 15th this month for best results, you know tax returns and all. Everyone is waiting until the last minute this year so say the economists.
