ROADTRIP!
This exhibit at the Frist Museum, PLUS a stopover at the Lane Motor Museum! Awesome!!
I'm having trouble breathing I'm so excited!- Don't tell my wife...she'll feel threatened!
I generally have no interest in pre-war cars, but the art deco stuff is indeed stunning. The designs and what it took to manufacture those designs were such wretched excess--in a really good way. Lightyears ahead of their time.
I am such a sucker for some Art Deco, probably my favorite period in design/architectural history.
Closely followed by the somewhat campy Googie style from the 50s/60s http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googie_architecture

I'm unfamiliar with that term and yet I'm quite fond of that jet-age style!
My favorite is mid-century modernism--as cliche as that is. I could pleasure myself to the Case Study houses.
I'm embarrassed to point out that I misspelled the title of the exhibit, it is "Sensuous Steel," not "Sensuous Steet."
My bad. :-(
