Hi, I am trying to find some information on how to reset the Service Reminder light on a '07 Volvo XC-90 3.2.
I found this information on swedespeed but it didn't work when I tried it: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?39792.
I had the oil changed at the dealership before the light turned on so they told me to bring it back after the light turns on because it can only be reset using VADIS. It's free but the dealership is not really close to where I live so I was hoping I can reset it myself, if it's possible. Thanks in advance for any info.
I'm a bit surprised that procedure didn't take- I haven't run into one new enough yet to need the scanner, although all of them can be reset with it.
Make sure you are in the correct position with the key- off is position 0, Acc pos2, run pos 3. Key to pos 2, depress and hold trip odo button, turn key to pos 3, continue to hold the trip button till the yellow warning triangle flashes, or the trip meter goes back to the proper mileage, or the message goes out. Don't hold it longer than need be. Same game as the Hondas were up til a couple years ago.

Yup, I followed the instruction carefully and it still didn't work. Actually around the key hole there are numbers I, II, and III so according to the instruction I put the key in position I, press the reset and I was supposed to turn they key to position II after the trip meter reset but it never reset and the triangle never flashes. I actually also tried what you said, put the key in position II, press the reset button, and turn key to position III but the yellow triangle never flashes and the trip meter never reset.
I guess I'll just have to go to the dealership to have it reset...
