I got my wire harness for the LSJ 2.0 out of a cobalt ss.  I want to start working on it, to set it up for a swap. I figure now with the cold weather may be a good time to dig into it.

I have seen several places where you can find info on setting up LSX harness to run stand alone.  Where it says "only need 3 wires to run".

I can't find much on setting up the LSJ engines as stand alone .

I have the wiring pin out for the ecu,

Does anyone have any guidance on where to start on this?

Will it be similar to the LS where I can make due with 4-8 wires?

My first goal is getting it organized so I can label the wires I need at a minimum to get the engine started and then go from there .

Generally yes.  On gm as this your oranges are battery power, pinks ignition power, black ground.  From there you can figure out what to keep or ditch and if you want the computer to send signals to gauges or power to your fuel pump.
