So at every Lemons race, i end up wearing my suit most of the time (need to be fully suited to be over the pit wall for driver changes, refueling, etc). this means i spend two days walking around in my Nomex Pyrotect shoes, which were cheap but are not so good for walking. any suggestions for something more comfortable, but still SFI- or FIA- rated?

Don't buy Piloti's!

While I have a pair that are fine, I recently ( June) ordered another pair through one of our favorite Race Supply sites. It took 3 weeks and a couple of calls to get them.

Finally, when they arrived, they were defective. Ugh.

I contacted Piloti Customer Service and they agreed to look at them. So far not so bad except it has been over a month since I plunked down $90 for their shoes and I am still shoeless. I sent them 2 Piolti in CA right away and its like they went into a black hole. I have heard nothing since. Emails and phone calls go unanswered.

I even contacted the 3rd party site that I ordered them through and they admitted that no one at Piloti in California is returning their calls either.

Sounds like I am out $90. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Sparco shoes are good/really comfortabe, or buy Lico, which is a Sparco-Owned branch, but a lot cheaper. They have a thick sole in them, which is good for walking around on, your feet wont hurt, and they won't wear down over time/events. Good Luck! Me and a couple SCCA ITA guys are really wanting to do a LeMons race

did you order from SAFERACER, I've had problems with them almost every order, it took 3 weeks to get my shoes, and the fire recharge kit was the wrong size, I'm done with them forever! In reply to jccurt:

Does anyone know of any retail stores which you can try on shoes, helmets, etc?

I'd prefer to be able to try this type of equipment on before purchasing.

I don't know what area you're in, but around DC or Summit Point OG Racing is great for fittings.

YaNi is in Ohio.

If anyone else reading this thread is in New England, HMS Motorsports in Danvers, MA does helmet and footwear fittings. Call ahead, though- A coworker of mine went to their store at my recommendation, only to find they were out-of-town for some sort of BMW event.

Seems like they are all narrow. But Momos seem "mo" narrow than most.
