Not this time
Hmm... so if you won the lottery, what would be the FIRST car you'd buy?
If I'm being honest, while I'd like to say it'd be a '69 Charger... or maybe a custom Sportsmobile RV conversion.. Or a new Porsche or used BMW... in all likelihood, I'd probably stop at Sports & Specialists on the way to work (to hand in my notice, of course) and buy something interesting... so it would depend on what they happened to have on the lot that day and what the weather was like. If it's nice out, possibly one of the classic Aston Martins they typically have... if not so nice, perhaps a new Evora or used Esprit.
Tesla S model.
Then a nice house in the country with a big garage to keepit in. Next would be a F250 super duty King Ranch to tow all my projects and what ever else needs towing.

A cab to the airport, one way.
I am thinking with that much money.. a large boat and a home on a small island where they never heard of me
So only a real jerk would want to buy a used NSX?
I wouldn't say in a press conference what I'd do with the money, and I'd hope to be smart enough not to blow it all in rapid fashion like what usually happens to people that do win a serious amount of money like this, but I can't say he's doing it wrong.
when i win the lottery, i'm going to pretend to be the biggest hillbilly/redneck/white trash stereotype that i can be when i go to claim my prize- but that only happens after i set everything up with an accountant to minimize my tax liability and what not...
then i build my money bin, complete with diving board...
then i buy my new car- which at the moment would be a Z/28 Camaro which probably wouldn't even make it home from the dealer before the oem electronics are all ripped out and replaced with aftermarket stuff and the car is put on more of a diet than GM already did to it..
I found a legit 72 Skyline GTR in Japan for sale yesterday- Pretty sure that's what I'd get. Get it stateside, flip it to some collector (like Leno or whoever) and go into the import export for 25+ cars.
So you think he is an shiny happy person for winning the lottery? Or is he an shiny happy person for wanting a used Acura? And what about the hat? I don't follow, unless the op has a severe case of envy. At least that I would understand...

I believe the "not this time" in the original post is implying that you would expect a lotter winner to buy a stereotypical asshat car to show off, and this guy is the exception because he wants something slightly less flashy because he genuinely wants it rather than just wanting to show off.

For me it would be CTS-V wagon as well, but is probably try to make it appear to be a non-V model.

I don't play the lottery, in fact I loathe the lottery.
But, if I happened to win, I'd give it all away.

You know... as I was crossing the bridge from NJ into PA yesterday, I was thinking if I won some obscene amount of money, I'd donate a few million towards getting that damn bridge replaced with the stipulation it remain a free bridge. I'm almost certain the only reason it hasn't been replaced yet is because they don't have enough real estate to add a toll plaza and they don't know how to pay for it otherwise. The plans for replacing it have been around for a decade. Oh yeah... and name it after me too... so everyone in the Northeast (or at least those in Central NJ and Eastern PA) will FINALLY learn how to pronounce my last name.

Folks from NJ & PA can't pronounce "Eff"?
I'd scan craigslist for projects or old, burned out husks of once badass cars with the intention of buying them instead of just day dreaming about driving them.

My experience has been they all pronounce it fuggin, As in fuggin bridge.Speech impediment.
There's A LOT of crazy ideas for swaps/mods projects floating around in my head, I'd mostly use the money for a means & place to make them reality.
If I had "go F yourself" money, for my first $$$ car I'd have a hard time picking between a real RS200 & Stratos, so I'd just have to get one of each. Then I'd get Polestar to make me one of their AWD C30s, because, commuter car.
