That generation has more than one engine issue, including butterfly screws coming out and cats being sucked back up. It probably needs a new motor, and honestly even at that price, you'd be money ahead on one that actually runs.

For $1000 i'd pick it up and dump in the 3.5 V6.

You can't find used engines for those... I have wondered about an over bore and pistons/rings... But, eh....

Yep probably 1000 down. Unfortunately dealers seem to do that a lot.

Didnt someone win G stock at the scca nationals in one of those and break the transmission while they were there? Those seem like a lot of problems to me.
