Oh please take it. It isn't what I really want to act a classic cruiser. I want something much smaller like Saab 96 or 99 or rear engined Renault or something British which isn't an MG (except a 1300) or a Triumph (except sedans) or Jag (except XJ6C) and I don't really want to get it until I have Yugo done but it is V12 Jag damn it.
I know it's a V12 and all, but wouldn't this be a good contender for cheap domestic small block & megasquirt?

I was just teasing you. Although $500 isn't a bad price for the car, I do know the car and the work it needs. He did buy the BMW for a reason although he doesn't really like it. Like you, I have too many projects as it is and $500 would get me new tires for the Miata for autocross season. Besides, unlike you I don't have the room for it and it would sit outside till I could get to it then it would be in even worse shape. I do have a soft spot for XJS's and I did get to spend a weekend with one once. The issues that had convinced me I don't need one although that V12 can be addicting. Having an RX8, a Miata that is being converted for TT, an Opel GT and an early MK1 Midget project is more than enough for me. To add to that a friend of mine that restores Tri-5 chevies and Pontiacs just got a 1969 911 he wants my help on, he doesn't know anything about ferrin cars. I don't know anything about Porsches but will be fun learning and he said he'll teach me body work on the Midget. Although that won't happen till he gets back from Afghanistan and moves here. I'm jealous of the deal he got on the 911, $2,000 got him a solid body, complete car that needs some engine work to get on the road. Although it is a Targa, not my preference, prefer the hardtop but a Targa would be next choice.
Had one. Bought it in much better shape than yours. It was a daily driver for years, but I wouldn't call it reliable. If the interior is shot, then it probably isn't worth trying to make it into anything.
If I had another one, I'd part out what I could and keep the V12 and make a really neat coffee table out of it.
I donated the one I had before the tax laws changed some years ago...
