Well I am contemplating buying this car,and thought I would ask you guys if I should or not. Normally I would not consider it as it doesn't have a third pedal, but for some reason I really dig this car. I suppose I could swap in a manual someday, and then put in a 2JZ as well.

Very cool. Even with the slow motor and the slushbox, you can't beat a cruiser that awesome. I say do it.
I want something to haul the kids around in during the good weather month we have here in MA to replace the dead RX-3 SP. I was looking to get another SP to repair the dead one,but then I thought why not try something a bit newer that was still unique, and cool(are wagons cool? Probably not).
I imagine the car is slow with the slushbox, and the weight, but I also love 12A powered RX-7's which are exactly rocketship's either.
Chris
Yes, wagons are very cool. Anyone who says otherwise is just wrong.

Cressida?
Awesome that it's a wagon, but it will be slow, (like you say.) I have a Crown sedan with probably the same engine (5MGE + auto), and it's a drag driving that old tank up long, steep hills. Floor throttle, wait for trans to kick down, then keep throttle pinned all the way. Mine's off the road now, waiting for an engine swap .
I think I saw that on Japanese Nostalgic Car. In Texas? I like it but it's too far away for me. I say go for it.
Yes it is in TX,and even further away from me than you,but that is why they have shipping companies. Any know the power output of this engine?
Corpus Christi,TX. Anyone local that could put some eyes on it for me?
Chris
I say yes, though I'd do something about those ugly Watanabe-wannabe wheels. For a little inspiration, here is former autocross champion/current drifter Taka Aono's 1JZ-powered Cressida wagon:
You could probably do a 7MGTE swap for cheap. A couple of websites I went to said if you replace the head bolts with ARP-brand head studs and torque them down to 75-80lb/ft. then it shouldn't pop the head gasket.
I still haven't pulled the trigger on this, but I am still contemplating it. The big hold back on my end is I am not a fan of automatics, but this car may be okay. What does the GRM think?

Why haven't you bought it yet? That's what I'm thinkin.... auto can be worked with in a car that sweet.
I don't see a price. Did I miss it somewhere? That'll make the difference for me.
I didn't mention the price, but the seller was/is asking $4500. A bit more than I want to spend, but not bad in the grand scheme of things. It will cost about $800 or so to get it to me as well.
The car also come with a turbo from a 7M,and manifold I believe. I know little to nothing about turbo's,but could I turbo the 5M fairly easily. If so I imagine you can't run much boost on an engine that wasn't designed with boost in the first place. Maybe I am wrong though.
It's even got airbags for those heavy loads.
