have you ever seen a thread on here where someone asks "should I buy this?" and seen where they're told NO ?
we are enablers … that's what we do
I always likes those, and in my area (Philly ), they are hard to find in any kind of condition that you would actually want to have.
Lemons'd one of those for a few years. It was extremely competent and more fun to drive than the 240sx that replaced it after it got wrecked, even despite being fwd.
It'd just be a driver til I got tired of it. It looked like a decent deal, but I don't know anything about them.
Absolutely! A friend of mine autoXs and DDs his and loves it. It's a great little car and surprises a LOT of people who don't realize how potent it is.
Looks like a clean unmolested original car. While not as much if a hotrod as the previous se-r's still it's better than a bland mobile. And should get good mpg's.
Should have bought it yesterday.
Talked to the owner. He bought it new. It's unmodified and has maintenance records. Scheduling won't work til Saturday. I'll see how it goes. BTW, the kids won't fit in the backseat of a Miata.

Bucky? His car rocks.
This!
I knew the answer before I opened the thread...

I remember pinchvalve once asked if he should buy a used R35 GTR and we all told him no (because of 5-digit brake pads etc.)

The rear suspension doesn't move but neither does the front so they handle kinda fun.
Like all Nissans they are bad for rust (like "OMG I am still making payments what do you mean I have no rear strut towers" bad), but this probably isn't a problem for you.
The throttle on them feels strange. Driving gently is difficult because it's like the throttle cable is a rubber band as far as the way the throttle response is. Nothing then a lot, then when you let off the throttle hangs a lot. For some reason Nissan feels that this is good drivability. So, er, drive before you buy?

There was one thread where the GRM braintrust was almost unanimous in the NO we generated. It was about either the T-bird Super Coupe or the 3000GT VR-4. I think someone said to buy it, specifically to be contrary, because such unison was a scary and frightening thing for us.
Man, that is EXACTLY what I am looking for! Get it! They don't usually show up in such good shape, looks like a good one! Perfect DD and occasional auto-x car IMHO.
