the question was.. Should it stay in the barn and I said Nope.
my great-uncle has at least a dozen big, rusting boats of that vintage at his farm, just sitting around. He's constantly trying to sell them for "over scrap value" lol....
I'd get one from him, but none of them will fit inside my garage...
It's cheap, almost around the corner, and should see the light of day again. I thought this would be another Atlanta find. OHHHH, whyyyyyy did you post this....I want it. And I just found FREE winter storage for the Spitfire... May take a look at this one. That's a rare engine. And Big ego is right, that's rust free for up here....
That's a massive amount of rot on the bumper for only 56K miles. Still kind of a cool car and that motor is interesting.
I spent a lot of time in the back seat of one of those. Lots of room to lay down. Get you mind out of the gutter, I was a kid and my parents had one... Shees...
I bought a 1971 240Z that was in part a chicken coop barn. That white dust is chicken poop dust. Very fine and everywhere and still in my lungs two years later.

Exactly what i thought. But at least the engine and trans should live on.
It's one of those bumpers that catches all the road salt and slush thrown off the rear wheels, so it rusts prematurely compared to the rest of the car. Cadillacs of that era were the same way; the rest of the car may look very good but the rear bumper will be perforated.
Cleaning all that mildew out of the interior could be a project, though.
