I actually think the New Beetle looks better than the...new Beetle. This thread just reinforces my feelings some moar.

am I wrong for liking a new beetle that is made out like an older baja bug?

personally, if I could find a TDi new beetle for less than 2grand.. I would jump on it.. that engine would be great in a ranger

I first saw that color combo in a early 90's 911 dealer brochure (hardcover, natch). It works quite well on a 993.

I have enjoyed the look of the hardtop Turbo S New Beetle in black or gunmetal metallic grey.

I think gunmetal is the best color for the New Beetle, as it tones down some of its "Ronal Bear-nature."

When they first hit the market, I was into the cyber green, but seeing them on the road took a lot of the edge off of my interest.

It all hurts so much, I'm just going to focus on the 914.

Mmm... 914...

Buy it and accept that it is hideous. Don't bother modifying or washing it; what's the point? Any money spent on doodadery is money that you're not saving on fuel.
