First I owned is a 62 Nova. Got it at 14 and took it apart to "restore". Sold it as a basket case ten years later. Lesson learned. First I drove was a 76 Chevette. Bought for $500, beat mercilessly, sold for $800. Looking for another.

Amen on both parts. Chevettes are fun little cars. I remember that someone swapped a 500CID Caddy motor into one a couple years back.

1980 T/A, looked just like this one only with a grey bird, not the gold. And I had a Calvin pissing on a ford and chevy sticker in the back window.

Well I guess the first car that I could call "mine" was a hand me down black 5spd manual 1988 Honda Accord LX-i sedan with a white cloth interior. It was actually pretty sweet and in good shape/well repaired after my older sister crashed it (which is why I got it).

The first car I bought with my own money was a black 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R with a little over 200k miles on it for $800. Best $800 car. Ever. It had a couple big-ish dents and the headliner was gone, but it drove like it had 60k miles on it. Quick for what it was. So sad when it was stolen less than a year later.

I'd have to dig thru pictures or 'gasp' slides, at my parents house to find a picture, but mine was a '72 Pinto wagon, puke green. Terrifying on the highway above 80 with a unbalanced snows in back. The top of the gas tank rotted out, so my dad showed me how to use epoxy to re-seal it.
Very cool drivetrain though: 2.0 OHC engine with a 4spd behind it. I remember there was a maroon Pinto that I'd always see at Lime Rock in the mid-late 80s with the same drivetrain and some kind of Mustang wheels.

Well, first car that was my daily driver would be a 1979 Pontiac Phoenix. Very rare variant of an extremely common car:

I have never seen another 2 door 79 Phoenix in my entire life. I believe I saw a 78 once (grill is slightly different), and I've seen a handful of 4-doors.

The first car that was actually titled in my name, yet another oddball/common car, would be a 1978 Cutlass Salon. 260 V8, rear windows didn't roll down, and the A/C didn't work:

I don't have photos of my first car. atleast not that I can remember but it was an 80 regal with a 350 chevy/th350 combo I bought at age 15. the first car I can find a photo of is the spare parts mercury

I don't have a digital picture of it but it looked just like this.

200 CI of straight 6 muscle. 3 Speed non synchronized 1st gear manual. Redid the seats and painted it. Eventually it had a set of chrome keystone rims on it too. I still have the factory mustang emblem from the grill.

My second car was interesting too. It was an 85 Mustang GT just like this only with T-Tops

I found this on the 'net and said "whoa, is that mine?". That's how exactly similar mine was to this pic, hub caps and all.

I had one of those too. Factory Chevy 305/4-speed with A/C. Another one I kick myself for letting go.

1980 Datsun 310GX - American racing wheels, Phoenix Stahlflex tires, rear louvers, and yes the air dam was some landscaping material. This was me at Road America circa 1984?

So Datsun 310 Guy really was Datsun 310 Guy........not that anybody would falsely represent that.

Not my car but I had one just like this. It was the first car I paid for all the cars before it were hand-me-downs or piles of junk I found on the side of the road. They were not really my car. This was MY first car.

One in the front was my first car. Paid $1500 and spent a year fixing the oil leaks and gas tanks before I could drive it. Was a great cruiser. I'll get another one someday.

First car was a 1/4 Midget I bought about 11 years old with lawn mowing money. First street car was the Camaro for $800.00 when I got my license in '74.
