From reading previous posts about the then-upcoming Rolex 24 hour race, I know that some of us were going to be taking our cameras there and taking photos. Did anyone get some good shots that they'd like to share?
For me, getting that iconic shot at the International Horseshoe with the Ferris wheel in the background at night is one of the most difficult captures to get! The cars are relatively close and changing rate of speed rapidly, you have to battle to get a good spot at the fence, and you have to have have something to get you above the fence. Also lots of pro photographers between the fence and guardrail that may be blocking the view. Lots of factors that make my keeper rate >1% of the shots I take there. In contrast, getting a decent shot at the West Horseshoe is easy.
Here are a few of mine. I was ecstatic to get a couple of decent shots at the International Horseshoe. The first one of the WTR Lambo ticked all the boxes - car itself is in focus and sharp (mostly), Ferris wheel is in the frame (check), brakes are glowing (check), and there is the bonus of a large exhaust backfire from the downshift. Technically, it's not a great pic, but I'm very pleased with it. I got another keeper of the same car at the West Horseshoe four hours earlier, only the backfire wasn't as dramatic.
Show us the shots you are happy with!

I spent so much time in the media center I wasn't even able to run through a complete roll of film (and here I was worried I was going to run out of film.)
I'll have to finish up what I have in my cameras as soon as I can so I can share my photos from the race.

Nice work, everyone!
wae, the shot of the vintage RX7 going into the Horseshoe is awesome - is it possible to crop it some more so we can see the details of the glowing brakes and backfire better?

I don't really have the right lens for that sort of work, but I applied some noise reduction to get this:

I know exactly where that building in the paddock is. Did you get any pictures of the cars?

The RX 7 looks great with my IPad connected to a 55 inch tv

I love all these pictures, keep them coming!
That's a great shot of the Corvette in turn 6! I've found that panning cars that are far away it's super difficult to get decent shots.
Interestingly, on the Monday after the race my buddy and I went to the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge next to the Kennedy Space Center to kill some time before catching our flight home. Suddenly a Black Skimmer flew by skimming the water, and I was able to get some decent shots of it due to practicing my Mad Panning Skillz all weekend at the track!

I love seeing everyone's pictures! Please keep adding them!
