Thanks Pete, but if I’m going to do this, I want to start with a 1.8 and a Torsen.

I've been saying for 2-3 years I need to sell my track prepped (HPDE) 2004 MSM.  Last saw a track 3 years ago (Miatas@Hallett) and has been driven very little since.  It's no longer registered after losing the catalytic converter during our move and I still haven't ordered a replacement.  A lot has been done to it, here are some highlights

- ARTECH manifold and 3" stainless exhaust with genuine 2560R turbo
- manifold, turbo, downpipe have Swaintech coating applied
- Xida gen2 coilovers
- FM frame rails
- HDHCHT rollbar
- Ultrashield aluminum race seats
- G-Force 6 point harnesses
- de-powered steering rack with welded pinion gear
- Megasquirt 3x, built by Reverant over at miataturbo
- brake ducts
- Trackspeed Engineering Wilwood front brakes
- A/C removed (current turbo manifold interferes with compressor)
- coolant re-route
- Trackspeed radiator with DIY ducting
- oil cooler (I think kit came from Trackspeed)
- NASCAR COT wing with Singular Motorsports endplates and mount, plywood splitter
- Deatchwerks fuel pump
- Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
- factory hardtop with rattle can paint and DIY repair of some damage (I have pics somewhere of before)
- 15x8 6UL black wheels with Z2 Starspecs and 15x9 Konig Dial-In bronze track wheels with Maxxis RC1
- box full of factory parts (not including A/C, power steering, factory turbo/exhaust)
- Treasure Coast fiberglass trunk lid fur use with the wing (factory lid used when not at the track)

I bought the car new in Feb 2005 and have some emotional attachments which is why I haven't listed it anywhere, but if I knew it was going somewhere to be well taken care of and driven the way it's supposed to be then would be more comfortable seeing it go.  It does need an alignment and it will not pass emissions testing without some effort - weld O2 bungs into exhaust, reinstall factory ECU, injectors, and underhood emissions components (all in the box-o-parts).

Here it is in track mode, brake ducts were installed after this event and fog lights were removed.  Street mode looks the same minus wing, splitter, and with the reinstallation of the stock trunk lid.

My 94 is an A package car so you get both of those.

I also just sent snail mail to an old PO box address in rural Maine. I don't expect it to arrive before Monday or Tuesday. Let's hope he has internet access up there.

Oh, dear Bob, now I want that.

I really could use a '94 car to recreate the Manic Miata on and escape the burden of OBD-II compliance.

Yeah, Anthony has mail but I haven't heard back yet.

I feel your pain, Woody.  I sold mine 7 years ago to someone who promptly "fixed" the suspension setup and then got in my face at an event because of the car's evil handling.  I told him the car was smarter than he was, he should have left it alone.  I look where I live now from time to time for a Miata, but apparently I live in the Automatic Mazda capital of the world

You have mail with the story of the car.  I sent photos of the repairs that had to be done.  I'm replacing the top right now with a new Robbins top also in blue.  I will do the paperwork for the new title and registration in the next week.  I should have a TX title in my name in 4-6 weeks.  This car is worth it and it is the cleanest 94 with over 100k miles I have ever seen.  If no one buys, it'll get engine swapped or forced air someday.  I don't have to sell it, but I sure would like the extra room for my other cars.  I really want to sell this car by the end of the Spring and my challenge car post challenge.

Signs seem to indicate that I'm not selling the Miata in my driveway that I told my wife I would sell.  Yesterday I looked into a crystal ball and saw that this progression of events would lead to me buying another Miata further in the future.

A couple of pics of my ride..... wink

It's amusing, the top pic is at the TT regionals at NCM and I'm probably going 80+ in that pic, but it looks slow.  The bottom pic is at a local autocross and I'm likely doing all of 45, but the photographer was good and made it look zoomy.

Waiting for snail-mail stuff to happen in the digital age is truly torture. I seriously doubt that the letter that I dropped in the mail yesterday has even left the state yet, but the suspense is killing me.

This morning, I dug out an old laptop that runs Windows Something-That-Is-No-Longer-Supported and started scrolling through my email history. I finally stumbled upon (but almost skipped altogether) an email from September of 2011 with the subject line "Miata Brake Fluid".

Bingo! Now I have an email address for him.

I was going to tell you to come to maine.  There is an nb that has sat forever near or at a garage.  You are inspiring to go and look at it after my wife calms down about the miata I bought that then needed a clutch and a supercharger rebuild.  If you are ever up in Portland, let me know.

I frequent Portland Maine. I used to live there and I plan to retire there.

Let me know if you want to come up for an autocross this spring and summer.  The best events are at the former brunswick NAS.  Portland is the bomb.  We are in cape elizabeth.

Cape E is beautiful. I spent a lot of time there.

I doubt that an autocross up there would be likely, as any time that I get up there, I’m either in the wife’s Accord or my truck. Maybe a pint or two at Gritty’s though.

Does he have a telephone? Sometimes you can get books that have all sorts of names and numbers in them that work with a telephone.

UPDATE!

And it's a good one. I've gotten a response to my letter!

He still owns the car, describes it as "still low mileage, as I only live in the country for half the year", "it's led a gentle life, only seen rain once" and "if you just came upon her in a parking lot, she’d afflict you with a serious case of deja vu".

I'm not sure where this is all going, but I'm treating this as very good news.smiley

Now she has a brand new blue Robbins top.  I even have the tonneau cover and the factory window protector with this car.  I've never even seen the window protector until I got this car.

Good luck!
