Circlip or something more specific since it has that bend at the top and on the sides?

Lost one off one of the intake sensors to the car and it'll throw a code when I drive.  I want to buy it at a hardware store instead of dropping $10 at the dealer....

Thanks, in advance, for the help.

I have no idea what it's called.  But I can tell you that the Neon has clips similar to that to hold the window cranks on.  I lost mine and rather than buy new ones at the junkyard, I grabbed a paperclip and a pliers and bent my own.  That was in 2006 and they're still on there, even having been removed a couple times to change the door cards.

To add to wae's comment, they sell them at the auto parts store under the "oops" brand, with the other misc hardware.

Retaining clip?

That looks like a window crank handle retaining clip.

It's a custom hair pin clip or retaining pin. A standard one might work.

I call them "damn it" clips.

because that's the first thing out of my mouth when one breaks or goes flying off into the wild blue yonder.

I thought they were called the mother berkeleying piece of berkeleying E36 M3 clips.  Or maybe I just get a bit angrier when they break.

As for finding them, I'd run to a junk yard and grab a handful for pennies.

Oh E36 M3 clip. Because it's going to go flying and the first words out of my mouth are oh E36 M3.

Looks like a window crank clip to me.

Buy some spring wire (music wire) of the correct diameter and bend your own. McMaster or your local hobby shop to the rescue.

Yeah, Jesus clips or E36 M3 clips are the term around here.

Junkyard from a similar car?

Is that one of the push-to-remove clips like on Bosch injectors?  Or is it a removable retainer clip?

Junkyard not too close and their motors are already pulled.  This is a clip off a MINI that connects one of the sensors to the intake tube.  I hadn't thought about the Dorman Help section of my local auto parts store.  After posting this, I also realized that it's just slots on the sides of the tube to keep it from popping off the ridge in the tube and I can probably affix it with safety wire.

Yes, I could probably get it from the dealer, but paying $10 for a piece of wire makes my eye twitch.

Thanks for all the replies.  If nothing else, one popping off and flying into oblivion isn't an uncommon thing, so I don't feel as stupid....
