I'm planning on being at the snodrift with all of my usual cohorts. I'll have anywhere from 4 to 10 people with me. We know some pretty good spots to spectate and usually build a fire on Friday evening. Anyone that's interested in joining us please let me know and I'll get you details.

Friday night we will be out by the corner of Mount Tom and East fish lake road if they're running that stage this season. If that stage is not being run will be up on Avery lake on the ice along lake shore drive. On Saturday we usually head up toward Vienna and a little bit north of there about 5 miles and cut in on State road and then somewhere else in the afternoon

In reply to fidelity101 :

Did you have that truck up there last year? It seems familiar as a sweep vehicle

yup I ran sweep the last 2 years. We do 2 teams of sweep and do alternating stages so you may not always see me because we are sweeping a different stage or recovering someone

I went to Sno Drift back in the Speedvision days. Things I remember:

Snow

Severe cold

Being in a 5 second clip on Speedvision shouting something about Speedvision

It was a great rally to spectate. I saw Fidelity 101 ramrodding that big old truck round the stages. The Nonack's have a beautiful car and it looked like they did quite well they always came by everywhere I was watching well under control and going fast. We talked for a moment in Lewiston before the race but never had a chance after that. My niece and her boyfriend, both seniors at Michigan State University, came up for the first time. She is an art major and he's a photojournalist . They both took a lot of really good photographs as I get them I will post them.

I saw your truck sitting right there behind me when I took the picture of the Nonack's car. We always watch from the corner of camp 8 and Old State we watched the first stage that went through there on Saturday went down to the local Bar and had burgers. We came back to the second stage through there as we're parking this guy pulls up and asked if we'd like to watch in a really good spot we said sure. That's when we met Ron and he took us back to that spot and it is a phenomenal spot. I've been to a couple of others that are equal but are a real pain in the ass to get to. The boyfriend of my niece he has some really good photos from that spot I don't know if he has any photos of the sweep trucks if he does I'll make sure I post one. He has some phenomenal shots of the Nonack's BRZ coming through there

Great photos! I was again there doing some crew work, but the drivers I was supporting were both mostly clean so there wasn't a whole lot of on the fly repair needed.

its wonderful to be there just to see old friends and make new ones and participate in the awesomeness of rally.

The boyfriend of my niece is a very good photojournalist. It's from Hong Kong and then Singapore that's where his family lives now he's here kind of on an exile type thing. It's a really long story he's a student at Michigan State studying photojournalism yet he works pretty much full time as a photojournalist. He's looking for somebody that wants to have a documentary made of their racing season. He really likes the rally as that's the first time he's been to that but he'd probably be willing to do autocross or road racing or drag racing or circle track whatever. I'll be posting his photos when I get them.

they own griffin thermal products, i have their oil coolers and radiators in all my builds because of it. Ron and family are great folks. I stopped the first time but I like to haul on the 2nd pass, those are a fun set of corners.
