So a wrecked Mustang followed me home from work.....

There I was, minding my own business, when a 99 Mustang showed up at my back door looking hungry....

What should we do with it?

It is a 99 that sideswiped a fence. Purchase price is sub $700. We are planning to part it out, but since we are down to only 8 project cars at the moment.... It made me wonder what could be done with a 4.6 L with a 5 speed. I know that this engine is pretty bulky and not very swap friendly, but other than selling it to be put into another Ford product, what other good places can be found to stick these motors?

We know the previous owner, the car had sub 90k miles, and ran well before the sudden stop.

Where should we stick it?

I have a 5.0 Meotter. (License Plate "Otter") I would think that a 4.6 would be a major challenge to get to fit. A second gen RX could be a possibility, but I haven't seen one done.

A wagon would be cool! I'm not a fan of the Fairmont body, but that is an interesting direction! I'd been thinking sports car, but an old wagon would be great!

T-Bird is probably out of reach, But I'd love to see someone do one with the mod motor. There is a guy in town that has a fiberglas 56 or 57 T-Bird body with a 500 plus cubic inch Chevy with a big blower. Just under 1100 horsepower, but probably over $100 per pony! Too rich for my blood!

It's not exactly a great motor. Sell it to a P71 guy complete or swap one in yourself. It's 40 more HP and has a stick so that should make the P71 even more fun

The 4.6, with the OHC setup, is just a little too close for comfort in the RWD bricks - or I would have asked for the motor already.

nah, the 4.6 is one huge bitch. anything is a better choice for swaps.

Did you decide to do a swap after all? I only got as far as pulling the trans out of my car before it got too cold for comfort. Work resumes in the spring.
