No different than a SCCA or NASA event...if there is too much standing water, the race gets delayed. But nice try there NASCAR elitist.
Not really, Nascar sees someone drip sweat and they stop running, F1 cars have run with rooster tails and a red flashing light in torrential rain
Plus, F1 has taken a LOT out of the NASCAR playbook in the last few years. It's why the racing has been much better lately.
Cars are getting closer to spec cars. Using gimmicks to make the racing closer, like the wing flap, and the tire selection. The tire choice is really manufactured passing, which is what NASCAR hopes to do with their cautions. Somebody coming in and taking two tires in NASCAR, is probably gonna get passed by all those cars that took four tires that he beat out of the pits.
I laugh at all the NASCAR elitests that complain about road course racing too, FWIW. I've never seen a mountain road in North Carolina that didn't turn both right and left. So you know moonshiners didn't just turn left trying to outrun the law.
Trying to keep racing closer is hardly a Nascar invention, they just took it to extremes.
None of the current drivers have ever ran shine through those hills, if you missed it we loved Nascar when they drove production shells.
In case you think its only Nascar, they are ruining V8supercars the same way

And just think what could have been if things had been just a little different. Instead of braggin' rights on whose car was faster on a course, if it was braggin' rights over whose car got from X city to Y city over Z road (the real goal of moonshine running, after all)...

NASCAR requires as much, if not more skill than other forms of motorsport. Just ask any number of ex F1, sprint car and roadrace pilots that have struggled in the stockers. While I much preferred the old Nascar, the continual, juvenile bashing of the current show is simply childish and ignorant. Besides, who really cares if they race in the rain or not? not me.
don't think anyone on here would disagree about the level of skill needed to drive the ovals
we just sorta laugh at all the "OMG we can't race in these conditions" that comes from the NASCAR officials

You are confusing hatred for little Bill's BS antics with cautions and rules for hatred of NASCAR. They are not the same thing. I've worked for Daytona Speedway, I've ridden in a car at 150+ on the oval, I have nothing but respect for the drivers. It's the officials that have their heads up their rear-ends.

Tractor pulls, F1, go karts, rally, NASCAR, NHRA, jet skis, Dirt Tracks, ALMS, lawn mowers, airplanes, RC cars, everything is fine.
There's a lot of difference in a 2,000lb car riding on a 14" wide rain tire for 1/4 of the oval, vs. a 3,700lb car riding on a 10" wide rain tire for ALL of the oval.
When American Sedan started it's 2nd coming, a friend of my dad built a Camaro for it. His first race at Charlotte, he hit the wall VERY hard in NASCAR turn 3, because the D.O.T. race tire he was running came apart from the heat and cornering forces. This was not some fly by night, johny-come-lately tire company tire he had on the car either. An A/S Camaro is a good bit lighter than a NASCAR stockcar, and doesn't go into the banked corners as fast either. SCCA had several meetings due to his problem.
My dad raced motocross, autocrossed, ran SCCA C Sports Racer, and ran a '58 Impala on both dirt and asphalt in the late '60's and early '70's. He also ran trials bikes as well. I just don't understand all this hate for other forms of motorsports at all.
