That's not what I mean. I mean the issues with combustion pressure pushing (irregularly, at varying angles) on what is for an IC engine a fairly long and wide surface (Very High pressures can/will dent OEM rotors!) and, to top it off, it pushes on one of three faces, in sequence. So the rotor is getting squished around like somebody rolling a stress ball in their hand.

Wouldn't titanium be pretty well suited to this application, then? I see a lot of FSAE cars (since that's all my life is, lately) using Ti for sprockets without cush drives, and even some teams use them for CV joints.

It's the interface between the two sections that worries me. The loads are going to be passed down to the bearing and gear through that interface in a cyclic way.

If it's Mazdatrix doing the work, then I feel a bit better about it, compared to XYZ Drag Shop y0! producing them.
