It was another 7 on 1, this time for a full hour. I need a scotch and a cigar.

Pretty good! I think I made a good impression and had some solid ideas. I don't think I'm the strongest candidate on paper, but that's what they went with last time and it didn't work, so I'm hoping that they go with bold this time. I have a lot of ideas about running a racetrack.
Thank you everybody, I really appreciate the support. Even if I don't get it, I'm pretty happy with making it this far.

Good lortd, glad you survived. Honestly I have done a lot of interviewing on both sides of the table and that's the most unblanced I have seen, and to do it twice!!
I heard from the City today that the process is still ongoing and thanking me for my patience while they navigate administrative processes over Zoom. The position is expected to be filled in March, so this was a positive update.
Fingers crossed

I've been waiting for an update, thanks for keeping in the loop!

I realize we've heard more since this, but i wanted to say, I love your attitude man. right way to go through life.
Since it's a governmental position, is there the ability for the public to comment? If so, I bet you'd get a LOT of recommendations!
that is actually moving fast for govt positions. iirc mine was 6-7 months from final application to start date and that was with only 2 weeks notice.

As an actual stand-up I can tell you if someone ever tried this sort of thing they'd find every comic on the show waiting for them in the parking lot.
Thought about this yesterday! My current job took 9 months to land but it's a great job. Sometimes it worth the wait.
And I second the public comment post above.
I once applied for a government job. I've heard that usually they already know who they want to hire before posting the position. My process pretty much proved that. Not saying I would have gotten the job, mostly just wanted to apply. I made sure I met every qualification & everything they required. I just got an email back stating that I didn't qualify for the position because of some obscure government code & thanks but no thanks. I looked through the requirements & there was nothing about this code blah blah blah.

I also would like a track tour. But I don't have much time, can we make it fast?
