Nice looking TVR, glad you finally managed to find one. I hope you'll grace us with a build thread.

Wait, there was a Corvair in this thread, too? Actually that does look pretty nice, too!

In reply to BoxheadTim:

Thanks, Tim. I will try to document the TVR build. The Corvair is staying just the way it is though, so there won't be any build thread on that one.

Both look really nice - Congrats on your shopping skills.

Is that TVR fuel injected? As in TR5 motor?

Edit - More like Webers on 2nd look....

Thanks!
As far as the induction goes, they came from the factory with twin Zenith-Stromberg carbs, just like the US model TR-6's. This one has triple Webers, a mild performance cam and header.

The corvair is home and in the shop. I'll post more later...

So I guess this means no vintage race car in the shop for the PIB races?

It's amazing how many different dream garages I can have at once.

This is probably one of them.

In reply to Gary:

My plan is to turn the TVR into a vintage racer, but that won't get done in time for this years PIB races. So this year we will take the Vair and just have a good time.

I have driven the Valiants, but the 'vair was a better car than all of them. If only there was a decent modern overdrive tans option for them. I would make one my daily driver.

The Falcon makes a great daily driver (I knew someone who used a '61 Falcon 4-door as a daily driver, in the late 90s) and the Rambler is a stout little box if you like quirks, but if I had the choice of any, I'd go for a Tempest because if you're going to go for weird, the tendency is to take it as far as you can.

Think Corvair with half a 389 up front instead of an aircooled six out back.
