2014 ATS
2.0L Turbo, 6speed, Brembos, mechanical limited slip, sport suspension, black on black, CUE, rear wing, and new tires
First Impression:
WOW! The sedan is pretty light on its feet. The brakes are berking phenominal! The engine is quite willing, but sounds like you are running nails and bolts through your KitchenAid blender once the tach swings past 5700rpm. The only other gripe is the light clutch pedal. The throw is good, but it took a bit to "feel" when it grabs.
More pics later today.

That doesn't sound like a normal or healthy noise, better stay away from that rev range until you find out what's causing it.

My sarcasm sucks when transferred in text
The LTG isn't the most pleasent sounding engine at high rpm.

The super light clutch threw her off on the test drive, so she's in the V for the weekend. I have a few days to play until she gets used to it.

Wow I'm definitely out of the loop.

Outstanding car! After talking to several friends who do (or did) own them, it is at the top of my short list. There's a 2013 2.0T 6MT Premium CPO with 27k at a dealer in OKC for $15,900. Too bad I'm not buying until July-ish.

I am really curious to know how much of the parts the suspension shares with the Camaro. I know that supposedly the camaro has longer control arms but I wonder if that was just to make it wider and if you can use a lot of the same shock etc stuff
Looks really nice!
Mileage? Price? Which Carmax did you get it from? Surely that wasn't here in Cola? If you don't mind sharing details.

Was the lsd an option? Or did all of the 6mt cars have them?
Almost 38k, $18k, and yes it was here in Cola. There were two 6MT in their inventory in the country. The other was FAR away.
The price was a few grand more than I wanted to pay, but pffft . . . It was local and it has all the options we wanted.
I usually have buyers remorse and would nit pick my purchase to death . . . But not with this one.
In reply to mw :
From what I am reading, LSD was standard on 6MT cars. It was optional on autos until you got to the Premium trim level.

Thanks for sharing the details. Wow, surprised that was here. They usually have very few interesting cars locally.
Looks nice and I hope you enjoy it!

Sweet. One of the few cars for me where black is definitely the right color. It just looks like you mean business.

Would you believe, it's a slightly smaller version of the same chassis that the new Camaro is built on?
I like the reason behind the ATS's existence. GM wanted to build an A4/3-series fighter, so they made the CTS, which was midsize car at compact price. Then they did some research and found that people who bought A4s and 3ers didn't want a bigger car, they wanted a good smaller car. So they said, okay, we'll make the CTS properly awesome for its size class, and then make a smaller car.
Finally. They got it.

None . . . LOL!
I said no to mods for daily drivers a while back. It makes my lift so much easier.
I would LOVE some cast off ATS-V wheels, but they are still berking expensive and tires aren't cheap either.

Just goofin'....bettter tires, pads, and perhap a CAI would probably do it .....at my end ,G2 V , it's $25K to play(drag racin' er NO)....Would rather funnel that $$$$ towards fuel tires pads....gas & oil.....enjoy and if you're so inclined let us know how this plays out ......very curious here
