I'll drop this quote from 'Mad Dog' Mattis and link to your future weapon of destruction.
9. "There are hunters and there are victims. By your discipline, cunning, obedience and alertness, you will decide if you are a hunter or a victim."
Knowing basically where you live, how does anyone hit your house, and cars on two separate occasions on a straightaway? Knowing the area I don't think there are any drastic elevation changes around there either. I think it's a sign that you should move.
My wife says about the same thing regarding my Miata. Had it 5 years, been in body shop 4 times for people hitting it. It is invisible grey colored.
What you need is a 7-foot-wide, 3-foot-deep ditch, or two fifty-ton boulders with a cable six inches in diameter between them.
Damn. Three times no fault hits. Glad nobody was hurt.
Was it a pizza delivery driver (from a shop) or just a dude picking up his own pizza? That little bit of the story is kinda funny.
I think the little wiggle in the road is causing the mayhem. Definitely agree with the rumble strip and/or closely spaced reflectors suggestions. Guardrail would have to be a half mile long....
Good luck with this.
In reply to OHSCrifle :
Yup, house got hit, Yukon 1 got hit while stopped, Yukon 2 and rental got hit while parked.
About the pizza: I was curious about that in that I was curious where the alcohol was consumed. At home before or while at a bar and he was bringing his pizza home.
(I went to see the three cars involved while the sun was shining and going the Accord first. The owner of the tow co./garage was defending the drunk driver who missed my wife and kids by an hour, would’ve likely killed my parents in my house if my vehicles hadn’t stopped him and generally committed an plain inexcusable act. I wasn’t even calling for his head, just that he pay for this fiasco and be punished for the crimes he was charged for as opposed to getting off. I cannot stand drunk driving and I cannot stand those that defend drunk drivers.)
More daylight pictures. Maybe you guys can tell me if these repairs will total this one too. I’m guessing the front drivers wheel will need to be replaced and possibly the rear as well. What you can’t see is the front bumper cover was on the ground but the ramp truck driver shoved it back on.
My guess is that this rear panel hit alone is enough to total it. Rear panel work is expensive, labor intensive work unlike front fender which more or less bolt on.
This front hit on it's own is probably enough to total it too. That is a deep hit. Not just replace the exterior metal but the core supports that it bolts onto as well.
Add those two together and they are not gonna fix it. They will pay you out.
Add in this 3rd piece and you are way over the top. This 3rd hit will call for a full front fender as well as a full factory running board not to mention the mechanical damage which could combine all the way to front axle/trans damage.
Disclaimer: I'm not in the biz and just my layman's assessment.
All fixable and any one or two of those probibly not totaled. But I think the sum total of all of it will total it
The biggest thing is are all the doors still aligned and is the frame bent on the left frountif not the rest of it is just sheet metal repair and maybe a new corner suspension wise as long as there was no damage to the driveline. I assume that is awd? If it is 2wd that greatly reduces the chance of driveline damage and ups the odds it is fixable.
If the truck was really that good fixing it may be a good option. I would actually want them to use used oem parts and not aftermarket parts. Using new oem parts would probibly total it.
The front bumper cover is nothing. They pop off really easy. I think they are designed to do that so they don’t get torn up if they get caught on something. Mine on my Denali I have piped it off a couple times. Just put it back on and snap it over the inner fender liners.
If I saw that at auction and knowing how good it is from your description I would be tempted to fix it these trucks really are about as easy as legos. That damage would not scare me personally to fix of there is no frame damage
Drivers door also needs to be fixed if that’s not evident in the pictures.
It’s AWD. That hit was hard enough to move a 5,500lb truck almost 20 feet and hard enough to have pushed it into the tree and crush the passenger fender and hood.
So drivers door and fender, front and rear bumper covers, passenger fender, hood and rear quarter panel. The bumper cover was mangled by the ramp truck dragging it onto the truck.
I think that’s most of it. I did have to open the hatch and it was NOT lined up like it was beforehand.
The left front is going to be everything outside of the frame.
That tree (?) damage on the top right of the hood looks deep enough that it may have opened up the battery. If battery acid got on the engine, it's not even an engine donor. You can't really neutralize it once it soaks into aluminum.

God, I’m gonna go through another 4 weeks of looking for a replacement? I got $5,700 for my last one with rust, dents and primer all over. They better make this “worth it”. I cannot believe what this has done to my and my families mental status.
Just getting home and relaxed and a tremendous (quick) series of BOOMS only to run out and see smoke and headlights right under our front bay window. One of my daughters was in the fetal position on the floor (it happened 20 feet from her) crying “I want to go to bed, I want to go to bed.” She was a wreck.
My sons hands were shaking while trying to call 911 while my other daughter kept screaming “oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.”
Man does this piss me off. Mostly for them.

A car with a sleepy driver went through my foundation last year and a drunk driver took out two cars in one crash in my driveway this year. We’ve had several misses that slid across our driveway over the years though. I doubt they’d even go for a guardrail. Not one of these incidents has started on our property, they’ve started in either neighbors yard and ended up in ours.
edited for grammatical errors
Man, that tank trap thing was what I was thinking before the I saw the pic of one. I think I'd have them strategically placed along the perimeter. "Modern Art."
Given that white Yukons seem to be the magnet, why not just buy back the truck and stick it on the front lawn?
People in Finland will spray paint rocks with the names of rally drivers who hit them. You could do the same for the truck!

You know I would make sure that is passed on to your agent. This is kind of a special situation.
I hope the kids are doing better. All the other crap does not matter.

I'm thinking of Petter Solberg's huge crash in Germany when he hit the Panzerplatzen (sp?) on the side of the road. I know there's a GIF but can't find one.

We were told we’d hear from the other insurance company one business day after Wednesday but Thursday and Friday have come and gone and no calls. I wrote the adjuster a detailed email about the special circumstances surrounding this crash. I had to leave out the specifics of the drivers language but I’m sure my kids remember some of the words he was saying.

We’ve had crashes and rollovers from the North and an equal amount from the South.
I think the greater issue with the road is that it appears straight while driving (and you have referred to it as straight) it is not actually straight and driver's find themselves in your yard(s) before they realize.
I think what you need are Chevrons to draw attention to the curve (even if it is slight). Sample:
What you want is to draw attention to the driver that something needs their attention . It would be best if the placement of these signs accentuated the actuality of the curve.
If you can not get the municipality to act on this even placing residential grade reflector, driveway markers might be a start.

In this case be that guy. I would be calling your agent every day. This is what you pay them to do. You have a rental yet? I would be asking for a rental of equivalent to what was crashed. I would be telling your insurance to hell with the other insurance you pay your insurance to take care of you and to deal with the other peoples insurance for you. If your agent does not get this and does not understand that is what you are paying them for I would be letting them know you are not happy. Ask them what they are doing about it.
I swear that there is a business opportunity out there for a consultant to take care of this kind of thing. At the moment agents get paid by the insurance company after you pay your bill so who are they not going to piss off. I just need to figure out how to get paid to do it.
