As for why, in Atlanta we tried a few Saturday events. Entrys were down and we lost money on them.
While I didn't participate in it, in my old Region some members got together for some informal fellowship/worship time by giving up a course walk or two. They tended to arrive early so as to finish registration and tech quickly and have some extra time for this. It seemed reasonable to me, but I'm glad they were low-key about it and didn't try to recruit.
Back from the dead.
I'm not really all that religious, although faithful, so I don't go to church for anything other than the community. And pipe organ music.
The girlfriend only goes for the singing and the warm feeling inside.
Its bad enough we miss church on a regular basis to celebrate God in our dreams, but I'd hate to miss it because I was out burning rubber, luckily there is a fairly strong sense of community in the burning rubber area.
