Anyway, the car apears to be in really good condition for a 60s throw away.

Good ole Mitt also owned an AMC Pacer. His Dad was Chairman and President of AMC, so it's not like they actually paid for these cars......that's what the little people do! 
Even so, kinda cool that a bigwig would drive such a lowly car. Even if it was a politician's PR move.

Detroit has a Craigslist? I thought that is was just a bunch of drug dealers and users squatting in burned out buildings.

I've bought some awesome stuff off Detroit CL and only feared for my life once.
I felt terrible last year when I bought some rims and tires for the Mustang off of Craigslist. The seller brought another guy with him and they were honestly scared of me. It was like everything that I said to reassure them came out in a predatory fashion. I felt bad. The wheels and tires were dealer "take offs" and were in terrific shape and at a terrific price, so I guess that it worked out well, just seemed weird.
