Dude, don't worry about it. I already jinxed the Great-Lakes area, weather-wise...

Driving around on March 2nd, I saw my first Robin of the spring sitting by the road. Just as I was thinking to myself that spring is almost here, the damn bird decided to fly and splat itself into my windshield.

I then go looking for the two bottles of break fluid I had on the shelf in my shop and they are no where to be found. Then I remember I lent them to a friend/neighbor a while back on the condition that he would get me a couple more to replace them. Guess who is getting a phone call. So I called him and he is at a party of gathering of some sort at his place. I said that is nice could you get me some break fluid I have my car apart and need it. We will see if he shows up. I am going out later so I will pick some up on the way home anyway. If you borough something on the condition that you are going to return it. Return it!! Off to take the other side apart and start that side. I might as well replace that caliper as well. I think I am going to get a rebuild kit for my calipers and see about rebuilding these.

Where do you source that break fluid and what is it used for?

I built a space frame this week that the Miata cradles bolt into. The wheelbase is 93 inches. I moved the engine rearward by 12 inches. Looking for 54% rear weight.

Today I started adapting a 1958 Devin inspired body to it. The Miata engine is quite tall. I'm woking on a hood bulge. Next is to widen the body. The windshield is for a Porsche 356 Speedster.

Having fun.

I replaced the condenser fan resistor on the 964 and the AC now blows cold and steady. All of the refrigerant will probably leak out, but at least I've proven that all of the bits present work. I'll write all about it in my build thread, but hot damn it's exciting. As of right now the only two things on the car that don't work are the cruise control and the left turn signal doesn't cancel.

That was me when changing to summer wheels and the two front wheels were both very much stuck from surface rust to the hub.

I am amending my answer also - I never quite got the car to the point where I started cutting because I cut my leg on some crap that shouldn't have been in the way, then went ballistic on organizing and removing stuff from my garage. I have one bay full of stuff that needs to go somewhere else. My car remains untouched.

Anyone looking to scrounge Megasuirts II, S50 parts, E30 trim, glass, or just old crap I don't want anymore ... look for a for sale ad in the $2013 thread shortly. Right after I celebrate Zombie Jesus by mashing several pounds of ham down my neck with hard boiled eggs and chocolate bunnies - I'll compile a list.

Well off to the parts store. The brake fluid never showed up.

Ohya Break Fluid it what we Porsche owners liberally apply to our cars. It lubricates the things that are soon to fail. It is in the special Porsche owners toolbox next to the bank account extraction tool. This helps you remove vast quantities of money from your account and makes you think that it s a good idea! After all if Porsche has a special tool for it it has to be a good thing Yes?

(Or all this is BS and I once again fell victim to the auto correct on google)

Sweeet. Can't have too many Megasquirts. Well, I guess you can, if you're slashing your leg on 'em.

I'm thinking about them as I haven't seen them since January. Occasionally I plan and price out parts that I need for when I return.

Of course, it being a 50 year old British car, all did not go well. Pulled the rear hubs and found buggered axle stubs, so the inner bearings did not slide off easily, and will need to be replaced. I suppose I'll remove the other wheel cylinder as well before leaving to have dinner with my mother...

Sigh....

Got everything done on the 924s except for the oil change and the front crank seal. I also discovered that I need to replace all the Weltmeister sway bar bushings and sway bar ends links and the bushings at the A arms where the sway bar end links mount. I assume that the rear will be in the same condition so I will just order new ones for them as well.

I also found a loose heat shield by the bellhousing that I did not get to but it explains the rattling I have been hearing.

All in all a good weekend.

I got an hour break when I was able to squeak in an oil change on the Odyssey. As a bonus, it's now running on all-seasons instead of Blizzaks.

I wasn't sure about the center hood bulge. The height and width is needed to clear the engine and intake. I took the bulge off and made a full width cover out of an old fiberglass hood from my sons race car. I ran it over the engine and blended it into the snout. It's rough but it gives me an idea of the look.

Any opinions of which look is better? Tomorrow is shop cleaning day.
