I'm not sure if this quite counts or not.
The day before Christmas Eve, I noticed that my car somehow had failed to set my nemesis P0015 AND had run all but the catalyst monitor.
Passed emissions. Now I don't have to worry about it until 2018 and the car is instantly more valuable for another year if I should choose to sell it.
Due to circumstances, I haven't touched the car until today. Started it to move it to the street and it did the cold start stutter, telltale cam phaser acting sluggish. Started it again to go out to run some errands and the MIL lit up. Plugged the scantool in when I got to the store (everyone with an OBD-II vehicle keeps a scantool in the glove box, right?) and P0015 pending/current and P0420 pending.
Once again, in before the lock.
